Hello All! Thank you for being here.
–
The work of Lead Safe Mama, LLC is not yet earning enough to cover the cost of what we do here, although we do expect 2024 to be our BIG YEAR — the year this paradigm changes! This month (February 2024) we’re looking at a projected operating shortfall of about $6,200 (possibly more).
–
While we are NOT a non-profit (so contributions are not tax-deductible), we have a unique community-collaborative business model and (similar to small businesses and news journals that accept support through channels like Patreon) we rely on contributions from Lead Safe Mama’s readership to help make up for the difference during leaner times (so we can keep doing what we do!).
–
In the coming month we would really like to continue focusing on two things: Completing several pending reports with consumer goods test results that are in our queue AND filing about a dozen violation reports (for Lead-contaminated baby feeding products) with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (something we receive zero compensation for doing, yet is an integral part of the work we do here at Lead Safe Mama, LLC).
–
Your contributions this week (in any amount — $5, $10, $25, or $100 — whatever you can spare) will make it possible to focus on these things, and especially the violation reports (instead of needing to divert our attention toward figuring out other ways of covering this month’s operating shortfall).
–
All money contributed through every channel is reported as income to Lead Safe Mama, LLC. Here are the different ways you can make contributions:

For those new to the Lead Safe Mama website:
Tamara Rubin is a multiple-federal-award-winning independent advocate for childhood Lead poisoning prevention and consumer goods safety, and a documentary filmmaker. She is also a mother of Lead-poisoned children (two of her four sons were acutely Lead-poisoned in 2005).
- Tamara owns and runs Lead Safe Mama, LLC — a unique community collaborative woman-owned small business for childhood Lead poisoning prevention and consumer goods safety.
- Since 2009, Tamara has been conducting XRF testing (a scientific testing method) using the exact instrumentation employed by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to test consumer goods for toxicants (specifically heavy metals — including Lead, Cadmium, Mercury, Antimony, and Arsenic).
- Since July of 2022, the work of Lead Safe Mama, LLC has been responsible for 5 product recalls (FDA and CPSC).
- All test results reported on this website are science-based, accurate, and replicable.
- Items that Lead Safe Mama, LLC reports on are tested multiple times to confirm the results published (for each component tested).
- Recent notable press… There has been too much to mention already in 2024! Please check out our press page to see some of the amazing coverage of our work so far this year!
All the ways you can help (whether simply supporting the work, or contributing financially):
- NO COST TO YOU:
- Share posts and articles from the Lead Safe Mama website on your social media channels this holiday season. Even with removing ads from our top posts and articles, income earned from advertising on the website during the holiday season (through January) has the possibility of earning us 4x the regular amount (four pennies per page view vs. the more typical one penny per page view).
- Before you start any Amazon shopping you are doing, click on a Lead Safe Mama affiliate link (here’s one of those Lead Safe Mama, LLC affiliate links). In this way, we may earn a percentage of what you spend at no extra cost to you. You DO NOT have to buy anything we link to for us to receive a percentage of what you spend!
- Before you start any shopping with Naturepedic or Solidteknics, click on one of our affiliate links and we will receive a percentage of what you spend (15% or 10% contributed back in support of our work, respectively) at no extra cost to you.
- Ways you can send $$$… Again, any amount helps. (Please note: Lead Safe Mama, LLC is NOT a nonprofit, so contributions are NOT tax-deductible — just made in support of a good cause, and deeply–appreciated!)
- GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/leadsafemamas-lead-poisoning-prevention-advocacy
- Venmo: @TamaraERubin (confirm digits: 3182)
- Zelle: 503-702-2708 (Lead Safe Mama, LLC’s Bank of America account)
- PayPal: Lead Safe Mama, LLC (@LeadSafeMama) — PayPal email: Tamara Rubin @ Mac dot com
- All income received through any of these sources is reported as business income to Lead Safe Mama, LLC.
- Hire Tamara! (You could pay now for an event or consultation in 2024 to help us reach our goals.)
- Hire Tamara for a one-on-one home consultation. More on that here.
- Hire Tamara for a zoom consultation. More on that here.
- Hire Tamara for a testing party with your friends! More on that here.
- Hire Tamara for a community outreach or corporate event. More on that here.
- Hire Tamara for corporate consulting or to help with a legal case or legal initiative. More on that here.
- Become a Corporate Sponsor of Lead Safe Mama, LLC’s work!
- We have a few corporate sponsorship options and — if you have a business that might benefit from working with us — we would love to discuss these opportunities with you.
- Our Newsletter Sponsorship has one slot remaining — you can learn more about that here.
- Our Website Advertising Sponsorship has three (side-bar) slots remaining — you can learn more about that here!
- Thanks for considering these opportunities!
- Short Term Loan! (This would support the consolidating of some of the debt related to our Federal Civil Rights legal case — more about that here.)
- If possible, a short-term loan (about one year) of any amount between $20,000 and $75,000 would help Lead Safe Mama, LLC consolidate some of the more important debt related to our Federal Civil Rights legal case.
- If someone were to make a loan in this range to Lead Safe Mama, LLC, we would use the funds to pay off several of the smaller interest-free loans that friends and readers made to help cover the costs of our legal battle. In that way, we would no longer have an obligation to a handful of very generous people who have been incredibly patient over the past 7+ years while waiting for this to resolve!
- Given recent earnings of Lead Safe Mama, LLC (specifically earnings due to increased readership on this website), we anticipate we would be able to pay off any loans of this type in 12 to 18 months or less; we would also be happy to pay some amount of (reasonable, low) interest (as that is required [officially] when a loan is made to a business).
- Please contact me personally at Tamara Rubin @ Mac dot com if this is something you might be able to help with.

I am far more aware of the lead problem and will not purchase anything unless you have already tested it.
