This is a Lead Safe Mama, LLC affiliate link for Solidteknics. Solidteknics products are my personal favorite Lead-free pans (and the pans I use every day in my home – when I am home!). They are lighter weight than similar cast pots (since they are not cast – and are instead made from one piece of [seamless!] formed material) – and they therefore have no rivets or other join points, or other decorative elements [made of different / potentially problematic materials] involved.

Please do note – per the post on my website with full test results for the stainless pans … the stainless pans from this brand are not 100% nickel-free — but they ARE very-low-nickel (and of course, 100% Lead-free or I would not be recommending them!)

If you purchase any products from Solidteknics using one of Lead Safe Mama, LLC’s affiliate links, Soliteknics will send us 10% of what you spend (at no extra cost to you), in support of our independent consumer goods testing and childhood Lead-poisoning prevention advocacy work. As of February 2023 they are also offering a 30% discount to Lead Safe Mama readers! Just use the code ‘LEADFREEMAMA” on checkout!

Thank you for supporting this work in this way!

  1. Hi Tamara,

The pans are wrought iron, not cast iron. They are wonderful to cook with.

Thanks for all your hard work, we all appreciate everything you do.

    1. Hello Tamara, have you tested any Made In stainless pots or pans? They are pretty big right now and a major competitor with All Clad. They say they source their metals from Italy and the US, but I haven’t been able to find any lead info on them!

        1. Please let me know if you are considering testing these or have tested them. They are extremely popular right now. They said made in Italy, but don’t have any lead free claims on their site.

  2. Are the new plain white Corelle dishes safe? I bought them and have stopped using all my 1997 blue heart Corelle and the gold 1970 butterfly dishes, bowls, and mugs since you tested them and found them to contain lead.

      1. Lead free? Even if the have a scroll work design that is all white too? CORELLE Boutique Cherish Embossed Square 16-pc Set

The dishes and bowls made in USA. Mugs made in china

  3. I bought a cuisinart pots and pans set you recommended . Said you bought for your son I believe? Just unboxed it all and discovered most has paint measurement marks inside Now what? I’m not sure I can return and find anything comparable in price

      1. Thanks for the response. I was seriously worried because I unboxed and washed everything before I noticed Love the set so far and thank you for the great recommendations.

      2. Hi Tamara, is it safe to assume all Cuisinart pots and pans that have the painted markings on the inside are lead-free? I have a set that my MIL purchased for us in 2018 that have been sitting in the box because I was worried about the markings. Thanks for all you do!

    1. Many. Just put “Le Creuset” in the search bar (at the top of every page) to see all of the examples. They are on my “never use / never buy” list.

Here’s the video that shows how to efficiently search the 3,200+ pages of information on this website:

      1. I’ve been trying to find any testing that you’ve done on the Pampered Chef enameled dutch oven. I’m on the verge of buying it, but not if it has lead. Have you tested that one yet? Thank you!

  4. Hi Tamara,
I love your website. Thank you for all your hard work, and for letting everyone know what’s safe to use in our kitchens.

In January, I purchased this cookware set from Amazon: Tramontina 8-Piece Cookware Set Stainless Steel, 80116/247DS.

Is it non-toxic & safe to use?
    Thanks again.

  5. Hi Tamara,
Thanks for all your work and recommendations. I’m really confused as to which pots and pans to buy. I not only want lead free, but “Everything bad” free lol. Like other metals. If you were to recommend a set or brand that is “everything free” first, second and third choice (disregarding any prices, I just want to know quality), what would you recommend in ‘safety all around”.
I am looking at Costco, but they have a lot, and i’m not sure.
    Thank you so much,
    Lynni

    1. There are no pots and pans that are free of metals.

  6. Hi Tamara, thank you for your research on our behalf, great work! I have Corelle dishes from the 90’s but the pattern I have is not shown in your picture….does that mean that are lead free/low lead?

  7. Hi Tamara,
Thank you for what you are doing !!!!
I can assume that the pattern that tested positive for less is on all the pieces with that pattern regardless of size ?

  8. My Corell pattern, Strawberry Field, is not on any lead list that I can find. Do I assume it is safe?

  9. Hi Tamara,
I have stainless steel pots, but they pitted. What is your opinion on the safety of continuing to use a stainless steel pot after it is pitted? According to my research it seems more likely for nickel and chromium to leach from a pitted pan. Not sure if that matters?

  10. Hi Tamara,
I was wondering if you have a suggestion for some stainless steel pot with no nickel? I do have an unsafe level of nickel in my hair tests. So I think it would be a good thing for me to use a no nickel pot. I do not know where my excess nickel comes from. I am in Canada, but I can probably find the same products in the Amazon Canada if you make a suggestion. Thank you!

  11. Hi Tamara,

Thank you so much for your work! Could you recommend a non-toxic Dutch oven? I don’t trust anything anymore…

    – Gaia

  12. Hi Tamara,
Thank you so much for such great work! I learnt a lot from your blog, really amazing job on educating people out there.
I have a question regarding the SolidTeknis cast iron pans: their seasoning uses rice bran which possibly contains arsenic. Did you test for that or do you have info regarding whether the company tests for that? Thank you!!

  13. I have a lot of Pfaltzgraph Yorktown pattern dishes from the 70’s. Do they have lead? I have never seen a post on these and they were so popular.

  14. Hi Tamara, is it safe to assume all Cuisinart pots and pans that have the painted markings on the inside are lead-free? I have a set that my MIL purchased for us in 2018 that have been sitting in the box because I was worried about the markings. Thanks for all you do!

  15. Hi Tamara, thank you for the amazing work you do! I bought many of your recommended products and still have a lot to change in my kitchen.
I’m very interested in Solidteknics Iron Pans. Would they leach metals – other than lead – in my food? Would that be safe?
Many thanks in advance for your help!

  16. Have tested the brand Tramontina Tri-Ply Clad Stainless Steel pans or pots….looking to buy but can’t find anything about them being lead free…I’m replacing my old nonstick pans. Thanks

  17. I don’t know. I like the construction and design of these stainless steel pots/pans a lot. They look amazing and I love they are lead safe. However, it concerns me that the whole website has the words ‘nickel-free’ splashed everywhere when you found nickel in them To me, this seems like dishonest marketing and makes me wonder what else they aren’t being up front with. I reached out to them today to try and understand the discrepancy, but to me, it doesn’t make me feel confident.

  18. Hello, I’m interested in buying these pans but noticed that your code no longer works. Do you have a new code or know if it will be reactivated after the holiday season? Thanks!

  19. Have you tested any products by Viking? I just bought the stainless steel sauté pan but just noticed there are painted markings on the inside. TIA

  20. Can you please update this? I have tried to look for this stainless steel pan and it hasn’t been available in months. Cast iron pans are too heavy for my mom

  21. Can you please test any Tramontina Tri Ply stainless steel 18/10 Cookware? I’ve a skrillet and a Pan both made in Brazil.
It really would help a lot since I have not many international brands available where I live.
My sister has got a Tri Ply Stainless steel Cuisinart Pot made in France that she purchased a couple of years ago abroad, don’t know if that’s a good choice either, cause the ones you’ve tested and suggested were made in China. ( I don’t want to assume that all Cuisinart are safe just because) Thankyou

  22. I’m looking at buying your recommended solidteknics pot they have on sale. Question that may sound silly, but I’m wondering if it’s ok to use it for boiling water/soup/tomato sauce?
I thought I heard somewhere that one shouldn’t boil water in cast iron/wrought iron but not sure why.
    thanks!

  23. I appreciate so much all of your hard work and information. And what a champion for people’s rights. Bravo! And it’s about time!
But the items you are recommending for safe cookware, are way out of the price range for a normal budget.

It sounds like you have not checked out all the options – we have options and suggestions at every price point and guidelines for making choices regardless of what brand you are looking at – Ikea is a good inexpensive choice.
