First the most important part: Why become a Lead Safe Mama, LLC Newsletter sponsor?
As regular LeadSafeMama.com / TamaraRubin.com readers know, the income earned by Lead Safe Mama, LLC does not yet fully cover the costs of the work we do here. One way to bridge the gap (to help make sure we continue to be funded so we can actively engage in independent consumer goods testing and childhood Lead-poisoning prevention advocacy) is to get help from sponsors. Sponsors help to cover the costs of the work we do here, which makes it possible for us to continue helping families in need – for free- every single day of the year.
We have a variety of sponsorship opportunities, through which we always try to make sure the sponsoring company gets generous acknowledgement, in thanks for their ongoing support of the work of the mission of Lead Safe Mama, LLC. While a larger portion of our work is paid for via advertising and affiliate income earned here on the website, directly-contributed sponsorship dollars make up about 5 to 10% of our budget each year — which helps to fill the gap in keeping our costs covered so we can continue doing what we do.

What is required to become a Lead Safe Mama, LLC Newsletter sponsor?
The current rate for a company to become a sponsor the Lead Safe Mama e-mail Newsletter in 2022 / 2023 is $5,400 — for 12 consecutive full calendar months (billed annually). This works out to $450 a month. This is for Newsletter sponsors who begin their sponsorship in any month in 2022. For sponsorships that are initiated in 2023 the new rate will be $6,000 for the year – paid annually (which works out to $500 a month).

- How many Newsletter sponsors are there?
- In 2022 there is a limit of three total advertising spots / Newsletter sponsors in the Lead Safe Mama e-mail Newsletter. [We want to be careful not to inundate our Newsletter readers with a bunch of ads!]
- Two spots are currently available [Aug 2022.]
- How many people get the Newsletter?
- There are currently 10,235 active subscribers (8/4/22) on the Lead Safe Mama e-mail Newsletter list.
- The newsletter is also periodically distributed via direct links to the Newsletter shared on social media channels.
- Lead Safe Mama, LLC has a combined social media following of more than 80,000 individuals (regular readers of our site and social media pages), with over 101,900 unique individual readers on LeadSafeMama.com in July of 2022 alone (per Google Analytics.)
- How often are Newsletters sent out?
- Newsletters are sent out at a rate that averages three per week over the course of the year (with some weeks with as many as 5 Newsletters sent out, depending on activity and frequency of newly-published posts on LeadSafeMama.com). [During our annual Lead Safe Mama Cross Country tours in January, April and October we also often send out an e-mail each day to let readers know where in the country we are and what new interesting things we have encountered in our travels.]
- Which companies can sponsor the Lead Safe Mama Newsletter?
- Sponsorships are only available by invitation from the Lead Safe Mama, LLC team.
- For potential product manufacturer sponsors; Sponsorships are only available for companies that make exclusively Lead-free products that have been tested using XRF technology and confirmed to be free of toxicants by Lead Safe Mama, LLC.
What we request of Newsletter sponsors:
- We request an affiliate relationship, with a commission in the 10 to 20% range (for any products sold using Lead Safe Mama affiliate links).) [This is not required but is also an incentive to our readers to purchase a sponsor’s products.]
- We request periodic product donations – for our Newsletter and social-media related giveaways. This will help us to promote your product organically and build your brand recognition with our audience – which (historically) has averaged more than 1,000,000 unique readers annually over the past four years. This year (2022) however is actually our best year ever to date (for traffic on the website and the reach and impact of our work.) So far in 2022 alone (through August 3rd) we have already had over 1,300,000 unique visitors to the site (see the graphic below):
- We request that a discount code be made available by sponsors for Lead Safe Mama readers to use when purchasing the sponsor’s products (a minimum of a 5% discount is good, but something in the 10 to 15% range is ideal.)
- We request an affiliate link through a portal that automatically tracks traffic, sales and commission [e.g. we are using Share-A-Sale with our one current Newsletter sponsor]. This helps sponsors to better gauge the impact of their advertising dollars. We also encourage sponsors to be patient as this is an opportunity in which brand recognition (and therefore related traffic to their site from our readers – and associated sales) builds over time.
What perks do Newsletter sponsors get along with their sponsorship?:
- Newsletter sponsors get a linked banner graphic in every Newsletter sent out during their 12-month Newsletter sponsorship period. They may choose to change the graphic of this banner periodically (see the current Naturepedic banner below). The banner will be linked to the sponsor’s website (or featured products), using a Lead Safe Mama, LLC affiliate link (the linked product or page can change periodically throughout the year as well).
- Newsletter sponsors will have their products promoted with Lead Safe Mama, LLC giveaways (in the Newsletter, on the website and on social media) for which they donate product(s).
- Newsletters sponsors will be mentioned and thanked (periodically, organically – as appropriate) in the Newsletter.
- When Newsletter sponsors come on board, a “Welcome” post is written on the website (thanking the company for their sponsorship and welcoming them to the Lead Safe Mama, LLC family.) This post is shared on social media and in the Newsletter.
- Newsletter sponsors will have one post (about their products / sponsorship – with relevant links and discount codes) pinned to the home page of LeadSafeMama.com for the duration of their sponsorship (this is normally an overview post about the company or their welcome post, as appropriate – however is sometimes updated to share information about a current sale or promotion offered by the company.)
#FunFact: In the last two weeks of February of 2022 (2/14/22 to 2/28/22) Lead Safe Mama, LLC readers purchased $20,373.20 in products from our Newsletter sponsor, resulting in an affiliate contribution (commission) to Lead Safe Mama, LLC of $3,055.95 earned during those same two weeks in support of our childhood Lead poisoning prevention advocacy work and independent consumer goods testing.
