Once Upon A Farm (OUAF) Tractor Wheel Toddler Cookie Recall – Nov 2026
November 6, 2026
Friday
Hello again friends! I hope your Friday is going well.
We posted a little ten second video (linked below) on Social Media in response to the Once Upon a Farm Tractor Wheel Cookie recall – to help raise awareness both about the recall and about our work testing products.
If you have not yet heard about the recall, here’s the FDA recall link:
https://www.fda.gov/food/alerts-advisories-safety-information/fda-advises-consumers-not-buy-or-serve-once-upon-farm-tractor-wheels-organic-toddler-soft-baked-bars
The risk identified in this recall is a “potentially fatal choking hazard risk” — the product reacts to saliva and becomes a sticky mass that cannot be dislodged from a child’s throat with normal anti-choking maneuvers.
We had previously tested these Tractor Wheels for toxicants (one of the first products we tested with our lab testing initiative – back in October of 2024), and they did test positive for traces of both Arsenic and Cadmium. Here’s our article with the lab report for this product:
https://tamararubin.com/2024/10/ouaf-tractor-wheels/
We have also tested several other products manufactured and distributed by Once Upon a Farm (OUAF). Here’s our category link with other test results for the products from this brand – some made it to our “Lab Tested Safer Choices List” and some did not:

I do want to make a note here that we do plan on removing all baby foods in pouches from our Lab Tested Safer Choices List for two reasons:
- Reason #1) potential plastics contamination of the food product from the packaging and unnecessary plastics waste created by the packaging (the pouches and the lids),
- Reason #2) recent studies indicating that over dependence on these products by parents (parents not using them as an occasional snack for their child, but using them for regular feeding every day, multiple times a day) may be causing harm to young children in that they are discouraging self-feeding development (and impacting the fine motor skills and facial structure development that come with learning natural self-feeding skills).
- Here’s one article discussing point #2 above: https://www.nationwidechildrens.org/family-resources-education/700childrens/2020/02/baby-food-pouches
- Here’s another article: https://www.webmd.com/parenting/baby/features/do-baby-food-pouches-cause-eating-problems
Here’s a link to our “Baby Food Snacks” category of articles as well (with product-specific articles with lab reports) – we have many more relevant articles than what is currently noted in this link and we will work on updating this category link over the coming days:

TWO Fundraising Updates:
#1) We posted earlier (on social media) that we wanted to test a supplement for a mama with a NICU baby and a generous anonymous mama helped out by making the full contribution that we requested ($300.00) so we can get that product off to the lab. Thank you to that anonymous mama! The product is the “Enfamil Poly-vi-Sol with Iron” supplement and we ordered it with same-day delivery and are sending it to lab today! #TeamWork
UPDATE: We will be using additional undesignated contributions (or any additional designated contributions that come in) to make up the difference in our testing and reporting costs (total $575.00). So after the first $300.00 contributed there was $275.00 left to raise to cover our full costs (before copyright and legal). Since we posted this request we have received an additional $95.00 in contributions (via PayPal and Venmo), making the remainder to raise to cover the full cost at this time $180.00. Thank you everyone!
#2) Testing Llama Naturals
We have now raised a total of $360.00 towards our cost of testing and reporting on the Llama Naturals children’s multivitamins, leaving us with just $215.00 left to raise for that. Thank you very much for those contributions as well. For more information about our testing of that product, click here (our earlier Patreon update today): https://tamararubin.com/2026/11/llama-naturals/
Again – for those who may be new here – here’s the link with our budget for testing and reporting (which does not reflect our related legal costs and copyright costs: https://tamararubin.com/budget/ & links with ways to contribute can be found below my signature.
Thanks for being here everyone!
Yours, in science….
