Hi friends!
The day before yesterday (August 20th), I learned that we need to raise $35,737.40 to get current with our legal team so they can continue to pursue the defamation and stalking case they have been working on for us. We have until September 20, 2026 to raise these funds (either through contributions, paid work, or loans).
My husband and I discussed this (and I also talked about it with Lead Safe Mama team members as well as my eldest son – who is now 30 years old)… “is it worth it?”
In the end we all agreed that it is worth it.
Winning a case like this will set a precedent so others don’t try the same thing — in terms of attacking the work of Lead Safe Mama, LLC and our business model (and my character, personally) — in an attempt to discredit the science we share (scientific inquiry that is funded by all of you!)
Winning a case like this will also set a legal precedent that could help others in a similar situation.
A stalker should not be able to get away with making hundreds of videos (over the course of two years) attacking any person for any reason — especially when those attacks are entirely without merit and based on false assertions that they state as fact — especially in an orchestrated / persistent / overt attempt to destroy someone personally and in an attempt to destroy their life’s work (and even more so if their life’s work is focused on helping others and protecting the health and well-being of children everywhere).
NOTE: The funds we now need to raise are in addition to the $20,000 we paid our legal team in July.
Yes, we knew this new bill for legal fees was coming (we had a hearing on the matter the other day that ended up being four hours long and used a LOT of resources – both preparing for and presenting at the hearing), and we are thankful our legal team is giving us a month to come up with the funds.
This is an action against a person (and business) that has publicly stated they would like to shut down Lead Safe Mama, LLC (to put us out of business entirely). They have also stated that they would like to own our website and our film. Without a degree in advanced psychology I could not begin to understand the reasoning behind these ongoing persistent attacks (other than it seems they are obsessed with me and with the work of Lead Safe Mama, LLC).
One thing we have speculated is that this multi-year campaign to discredit us started because they got angry when we said we would not endorse their Lead-testing product.
We made this decision for many reasons – however one reason was that their product consistently gives false negatives on consumer goods, yet — in spite of our feedback and coaching regarding reworking the marketing and advertising for their products so that the language they use would be more truthful and accurate — they continue to advertise and promote their products as appropriate for testing consumer goods.
This is a business that is making literally millions of dollars selling Lead test kits under this false pretense. It is important to highlight that a “False Negative” can be a very dangerous thing – as, after getting a false negative from a home test kit, a person might continue to use a product with their children thinking it is safe when it actually is not.
Ironically a talking point they use in their defamation campaign to try to destroy Lead Safe Mama, LLC is that we charge fees to fund our work (including our lab testing initiative, which I volunteer my time for and — as you know — which does not fully cover the costs through designed funds raised in support of the initiative).
It’s the greatest irony that someone profiting with (likely) millions of dollars from selling test kits that have both used unauthorized technology (not authorized by the EPA for an extended period), asserting the kits do something they do not do (reliably test consumer goods) – is begrudging Lead Safe Mama, LLC simply trying to cover our costs to do the scientific, replicable, accurate testing we do (using accurate and reliable independent, third-party lab testing and XRF technology).

“It’s difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.”
