EWG continues to give Lead-contaminated products high-ratings in 2025 — Here’s the letter we sent
Published March 11, 2025 — Tuesday:
In response to a question in the Lead Poisoning Prevention with Lead Safe Mama Facebook Group today (image at the top of this page), I decided it was time to follow-up with EWG on this matter — as the new Washington State Toxic-Free Cosmetics Law is finally in effect (enforceable as of January 2025) and we had not heard back from EWG in quite some time, yet they are still offering toxic (Lead-contaminated) products on their website and giving many of those unsafe products fairly high safety ratings. Here’s the letter I sent (please see three screenshots below — you can scroll down to read each and check out the four attachments included with the letter, which are screenshots from the EWG website taken today):

Bravo, Lead Safe Mama! Thank you for all you continue to do. It is shameful that EWG still recommends these products.
