This company has done an excellent job in sourcing Lead-free glaze for their yogurt cups! With multiple extended tests on different sections of the glazed areas, the cup registered as “Lead-Free” (non-detect for Lead, with the limits of detection of the XRF instrument), even though the bare red clay of the cup tested positive for traces of Lead. What this means is that even though there is some Lead (at a level that is typical and considered safe by all standards) in the clay substrate of this yogurt crock, the blue glaze covers it with a thick enough layer of lead-free material that the XRF instrument cannot detect any Lead from the substrate through the glaze.
