This month has been so busy. Unfortunately, it’s been busy mostly because I have been helping families nonstop -families with newly diagnosed cases of Lead poisoned kids contacting me every day this month – actually many families each day. With CoViD-19 there’s so many more opportunities for children to be poisoned – because of the stay-at-home orders, it’s truly tragic. I am working on a post about that and will share it soon.

It’s been a bit overwhelming (for things to be so busy this month – when July is usually a very quiet month!), and I have been trying to keep up. I love what I do – and I am so thankful that you (my community) supports my work in all the ways. Those who pay for my services help make it possible for me to help other families for free and it’s a model that’s been making a difference in more lives than you can imagine. [Including 106,000 people (from all over the world) visiting the Lead Safe Mama website this month alone – per Google Analytics – see the second image below!] I’m writing to ask for your continued support tonight (in case anyone is in a position to help with some things I have going on today.)

Two specific things have come up today – one not-so-great and one AMAZING!:
–
– THING ONE (the not-so-great thing) – It looks like we’re going to leave on our cross country trip early Sunday morning (instead of tomorrow, Saturday). We took the car in for a “check up” today (to make sure it could handle the journey of about 10,000 miles there and back again – driving all over the country helping families socially distanced!) The car got a very clean bill of health (yay!) They did an oil change and fixed a broken headlight bulb (just $53!) and said otherwise it needed nothing and should handle the drive well… except… it needs a full set of tires! Apparently it takes unusual size tires. My husband spent the day calling around and finally found someone who has tires in stock that fit the car and are suitable tires for a cross country trip. We have an appointment to get them and have them put on the car tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. – Total anticipated “damage”: about $625.00

– THING TWO (the amazing opportunity!)- I have made a tentative commitment to hire a professional filmmaker to help me make YouTube videos during my cross country tour – to continue the “Ten Minutes with Tamara” video series (where you all get to ask me questions in zoom videos and then I share those Q & A sessions on my YouTube channel.) I need to get her a small retainer so she can start working on those videos right away (this weekend if I can pull together some resources!) These videos will help make MORE of the information I share available to MORE families in a MORE ACCESSIBLE way! Having her help me will make it possible for me to care for my kids yet get the information out there quickly (not held up by the chaos of interruptions caused by daily life with my children!)

To make both THING ONE and THING TWO possible I am writing to request the following: Do you already have a home consultation scheduled with me but you haven’t paid the remainder of your fee for our visit? This would be a GREAT time for you to do that so I can cover these two costs. Did you want to schedule a consultation with me but haven’t confirmed yet or reserved a spot. This would be an excellent time to do that too. The states we are traveling through in August starting on Sunday (CoViD-19 permitting): Oregon, Washington, Northern Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York & Massachusetts (check out the post link with the tentative dates for each area below!)

Here’s the post with the tentative schedule for August (I am going to be working on starting the schedule for September in the coming few days):

Here’s the post with how I am handling socially distanced home consultations now with CoViD-19: https://tamararubin.com/2020/07/how-to-participate-in-the-lead-safe-mama-august-2020-u-s-a-socially-distanced-cross-country-tour-covid-19-permitting/

Below is the post to chip in in support of my work too (if you are so inclined!) Thank you! https://tamararubin.com/2017/01/chip-in/

And finally – one more option: A small loan to get Lead Safe Mama, LLC through to September (when the work of Lead Safe Mama will likely begin – again – to 100% pay for itself – especially if things continue along the current trajectory on the website) would be welcome too! [Something in the neighborhood of $3,500 to $5,000 would be miraculous to help keep the momentum going & could be paid back with income earned this Fall.]
