October 19, 2026 Lead Safe Mama, LLC General Update + our first “non-detect” prenatal!
October 19, 2026
Monday
Hi friends!
We have three lab reports in the queue right now. All of the graphics have been done and they should each be published any minute now: a prenatal multivitamin, a children’s toothpaste, and a British cane sugar.
In these three reports we have ONE product that is the FIRST EVER prenatal multivitamin that we have tested for which the report came back from the lab with “non-detect” results across the board.
THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE FIRST.
As a preview for our Patreon members (since it is taking a bit longer for the team to get the reports published) I am going to share the link with you for this product, HOWEVER I want to be clear that OTHER PRODUCTS from this brand have tested positive for toxicants (specifically Lead, Cadmium, and Arsenic).
Here’s the link to the prenatal multivitamin product that was “non-detect” across the board this month with independent, third-party lab testing coordinated through the Lead Safe Mama, LLC Community Collaborative Laboratory Testing Initiative:
https://amzn.to/482bQC2 (aflink).
Note: This link (above) is to the product on the company’s Amazon store. Per all of our articles, we always buy products for testing directly from the manufacturer or from a known retailer whenever possible. In this case the product we tested was directly from the manufacturer (but we have no reason to expect there are counterfeit versions of the product being sold through the brand’s own Amazon store).
Here also is the link to the article with the lab report for other prenatal vitamin product we tested from this brand that did test positive for toxicants:
https://tamararubin.com/2024/10/needed-prenatal-multi-capsules-test-positive-for-lead-cadmium-arsenic-september-2024-lab-report/
I share the above link to emphasize that our lab test results are ALWAYS PRODUCT SPECIFIC and NEVER brand specific.
Here’s our “prenatal vitamin” category of articles if you want to brows through and check out other product-specific lab reports for products in this category that we have tested and reported on: https://tamararubin.com/category/prenatal-vitamin/
I also wanted to take a moment re-share the article discussing the connection between Hiya Health (children’s vitamins) and the orchestrated smear campaign meant to discredit our work (for those who may have missed it):
https://tamararubin.com/2026/10/thr-gimme/
In response to this multi-year smear campaign (which has now been extensively covered in The Hollywood Reporter), Lead Safe Mama, LLC’s income is at a new low (especially when compared to 2023/ 2024 which was a very good period during which we were covering all of our bills, expanding the reach and impact of our work and hiring new team members to meet the demand and interest of our community!)
We are currently having a lot of difficulty covering even our basic operating costs – without even looking at legal costs and funds owed to the Lead Safe Mama team for their ongoing support during this difficult period.
Here’s a short list of some of the costs we are trying to cover today (shared in the hopes that it may incentivize you to bump up your Patreon support by even just $1.00 or $2.00 a month or more, to help keep us going until one or more of our legal matters is resolved). We would so very much appreciate that additional support during this critical time if it something you can afford.
- $367.00 general operating shortfall today
- $359.80 due for our website hosting and maintenace
- $1,750.00 required towards unexpected repairs on the “Lead Safe Mama mobile” (maintenance costs for a repair as it is an older BMW and needs all new hoses for the coolant system). This is the car we drive around Oregon and Washington and the Western United States for all of our West-Coast outreach events and home consultations helping families directly. While we would prefer to keep the car (as it is generally a very reliable car and has served us well – in rain and snow!), we have posted this car for sale – but – in good conscience – would need to make the repair to sell it (blue book is about $17,000 and we currently owe about $14,100 on the car). Alternately if you know of a Portland, Oregon based mechanic who might be inclined to donate (or heavily discount) their services on this, that could be amazing (noting the $1,750 repair cost is not considered to be an inflated cost for the current repair).
- $2,700.31 is owed to the lab at the moment (for all of our recent testing to date).
- $7,000.00 (apprx) due to repay short-term loans for legal costs – funds that were loaned by my kids (my adult kids actually helped me cover these costs by putting the charges on their credit cards so Lead Safe Mama, LLC could move ahead with some of the next steps and filing fees, & the bill is coming due on those cards. Thanks kids – I love you!)
- $22,000.00 (apprx.) due towards unpaid legal costs – a combined reamaining amount owed to two different legal teams (for one of the defamation cases and the recent copyright cases)
That’s the short list of what we need to cover for now, and all we are asking is that you consider bumping up your Patreon support to help with this (even with $1.00 or $2.00 extra dollars a month). If every Patreon member contributed just $2.00 we would have nearly $13,000.00 to cover these costs and more (this would also make it possible for us to cover the costs of testing and reporting on at least 26 products each month in future months!) Our current monthly Patreon support total is $3,107.00 each month donated by a total of 697 friends (for an average monthly gift of $4.46 each month gifted by each paid Patreon member).

Thanks for considering it.
I do want to also add that you can continue to support our work with your Amazon purchases. IF you are shopping on Amazon anyway, you don’t need to buy what we link to and we may receive a percentage of what you spend at no extra cost to you. Just start ANY amazon shopping you are planning on doing by first clicking a Lead Safe Mama, LLC affiliate link (like this one for a lead-free thing I have in my home: https://amzn.to/4z2MZdm, or this one – also for a lead-free thing I have in my home: https://amzn.to/4BeuLHb ) and then go about your shopping as you normally would! You don’t have to buy what we link to – just start your shopping with a click on one of our links!
Thanks for your support in all the ways (ways to send additional financial support are also below). While we have not yet made our first Substack post, we have also decided that our Paid Substack Membership posts will not have any requests for financial support (to differentiate them from our posts on other platforms). If you would like to join us there, here’s that link: https://substack.com/@leadsafemama
I hope you have an excellent week. We expect big things to happen this week for Lead Safe Mama, LLC too & will keep you updated as things unfold.
