RogersHood Apothecary Fulvic Soak Tests Positive for Dangerous Levels of Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, & Arsenic When Tested With Independent (Community-Funded), Third-Party Laboratory Testing
The Levels of toxicants in this product are incredibly dangerous – I would assert, even for “topical” use – especially given the potential for transdermal absorption of these heavy metals during a hot bath (when used as intended). Additionally – as a personal care product this product is likely illegal under Washington State’s new Toxic-Free Cosmetic Act, given the product tested positive for 5,000 ppb Lead and the new limit for products sold in Washington State is 1,000 ppb Lead. I will be submitting reports about this product to both Washington State and the FDA to see if they are able to take any regulatory action in terms of either requiring appropriate labeling of the product or (preferably) making the product illegal for sale.
The test results for this product are especially alarming given the product is sold as part of a “detox regimen”, yet exposes the user to very high levels of the very toxicants it purports to remove from the body. It also is absolutely ridiculous that they are asserting that the benefits of using this product are related to transdermal penetration function of the “detoxifying agents” (supporting my concern for the possible transdermal absorption of the toxicants [especially including the Mercury] contained in this product – see images below).
If you have been using this product, please stop immediately. Please consider talking to your doctor (immediately) about getting tested for heavy metals (urine, or blood) and consider starting a food-based detox protocol (not using anything that comes in a PACKAGE!) You can read more about the best food based detox protocol (which is pennies a day) – here. Please also consider reporting this product to the FDA here at this link. Thank you.
I would also assert that given the heavy metal burden of this product – COMBINED WITH the heavy metal removal messaging of this product, the manufacturers of this product are verging on a criminal level of greenwashing and misinformation.

That is a lie and false information. they get their products third-party tested tested often and provide links to the current test results. I reached out to them and they said the new results will be added soon. Here are last years results: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1_z92phmmE1ldvcECUd-7SbtwNDf23xDe
No lies – no false information. Just science. I filed a report hoping for a recall.
Tonya – thanks for sharing that link! Their results essentially match ours – within a reasonable range one might expect with batch variation – so it’s good for our violation reports that we filed to be able to state that the company tests and is fully aware of the Lead, Cadmium, Mercury, and Arsenic contamination of their product. This will especially support our violation report filed with the State of Washington – as even their internal report shows an illegal level of Lead (illegal under Washington’s new law). Thanks so much for your (inadvertent) help in holding this company accountable for selling toxic products!
That they are aware of these levels and selling them anyway feels like blatant disregard for human health to me. Made worse by their target market being people seeking detox treatments and therefore potentially already being medically vulnerable is incredibly immoral.
