MORE good news, Everyone!

  • Death Wish Coffee Co. Organic Ground Espresso Roast is now officially the FIFTH food product we have tested and reported on that resulted in “Non-Detect” for the four metals of concern we are looking at with the community-funded laboratory testing Lead Safe Mama, LLC is conducting.
  • Here is our affiliate link for the exact product we tested: https://amzn.to/3SPog9r
  • What these test results mean is that this product tested “effectively negative” for Lead, Cadmium, Mercury, and Arsenic.
  • We say “effectively negative” because, as with all laboratory testing, there is a “low threshold of detection” the testing is capable of — and within the context of this low threshold of detection for the testing we completed, this product did not test positive for these four toxic heavy metals.
  • While the product could possibly still have heavy metals at trace (very low) levels BELOW our laboratory’s low threshold of detection, it is very important to note that NOT ONLY did this product test non-detect for heavy metals (given our lab’s low threshold of detection), but our lab’s low threshold of detection for the testing and reporting completed on this product ALSO falls well below the Action Levels for toxic heavy metals recommended by the scientific and medical community in the proposed Baby Food Safety Act of 2021 (the most restrictive and health-protective standard proposed for heavy metal contamination of foods to date).
  • The MOST IMPORTANT piece of information to share here (the MOST IMPORTANT outcome of testing this product) is that it serves as yet another piece of SOLID EVIDENCE (clearly-demonstrated scientific proof) the proposed Action Levels (included in the Baby Food Safety Act of 2021) are ACHIEVABLE. This is useful information in challenging all the food companies (Lesser Evil, Serenity Kids, Cerebelly, Selina Naturally, Simple Mills, and others) defending unsafe levels of heavy metals found in their “healthy” or “Purity Award-Winning,” and otherwise touted as “safer,” products.

  1. Thank you! This is wonderful to see. I buy the red bag of Death Wish which is whole beans so I can grind the beans myself. I wonder if the whole beans would also get similar test results?

    1. I would expect they may (educated guess / based on the reasons I chose this company for myself), but I cannot say for sure without testing.

  2. Purchased this coffee and was very pleased. I even used the French press you highlighted! I was wondering if this code is free from mold.

  3. Too bad this coffee has the name “Death.” I usually avoid things like this.

Words carry meaning and have influence on matter. Dr Emoto’s work demonstrates this perfectly.

Do you plan on testing any other coffee? Could mycotoxins / fungus also be tested? I’ll donate to cover the cost. Thank you!

    1. Hi Misty,

If you search for “coffee” in the search bar, any coffee related articles will pop up.

For all of the laboratory testing of consumables, you go to the landing page for that testing – which is always linked at the top of the website menu (blue button that says “Articles with Lab Reports”):

Website Menu (linked at the top of every page of the website): https://tamararubin.com/website-menu/

Here’s the direct link to our laboratory testing landing page – The index for that page is in a set of light blue boxes at the top of the page. Scroll down to the Coffee & Coffee Creamers section. Those are links to all of the related lab reports for products we have tested in that category.

You can also click the “coffee” tab (hyperlinked word) at the top of any of the articles to find any coffee related articles.

  4. I would love to try this coffee but as being a Christian I can’t with the marketing of “death wish” and skull and cross bones on the label. ☠️

  5. Java Planet Coffee has tested for all 4 toxins and publishes their reports by an independent company, you can shop online and not go through Amazon. Read their reports, very well researched. I’m not a fan of anything with cross bones and words like death.

  6. I looked up the Java Planet. Great that they publish the results, but not so great on the testing limits of detection 🙁 They set the limit for 20 for all, way too high … but lead was set at 50!! Why on earth would they make lead so much higher, I’m guessing because their coffee probably does test positive for lead up to 50 PPB which is way over the 5 ppb action limit.

  7. As “death wish” is pending new lab results that indicate heavy metals, for ground coffee I highly recommend looking into “Purity”, the “Ease” roast . It is the only one I have found after extensive research that will share results showing it has been tested to be meet ALL the action limits !! (Which are much lower than the limits used by Java Planet, for example). Email them for a quick reply with full results! I’ll nominate it to Lead Safe Mama for her testing also, if anyone wants to help second it to her, so we can get enough votes to put it on the funding pages.

  8. Thanks!! If any readers care to help contribute to the 10 requested emails to get the very promising “Purity Coffee” added to the funding pages, here’s info you can easily copy/ paste 🙂 (I decided to nominate the whole bean version, just in case of grinding contamination.)

***Please email: Testing@LeadSafeMama.com with “LABORATORY TESTING NOMINATION” in the subject line of your email.

***In the body of the email:
    BRAND:  “Purity”
EXACT PRODUCT NAME + FLAVOR:  “Ease: dark roast whole bean coffee,”
    LINK: https://puritycoffee.com/products/dark-roast-whole-bean-coffee
PRODUCT IMAGE: (can’t paste here but please copy/save the required product image via the link)

  9. (Though the “ground” version of “Ease” is the exact version they have the clean lab results for , so testing the ground instead should be very promising too!! … “whole bean” freshness, VS. “pre-ground” convenience — a win either way if one proves clean )
