Here’s the text I shared with these two graphics (above and below) on Instagram (7/8/2024)
Two images — including Seven Sundays’ response to a customer today — from July 8, 2024, Monday.
–
Their response is ridiculous of course, and irrelevant.
–
The proposed action level is 5 ppb Cadmium. Seven Sundays tested positive for 168 ppb Cadmium, the highest Cadmium level we have found in any product.
–
To use a familiar analogy… To get the amount of Cadmium in ONE bowl/ one serving of Seven Sundays (see image here), you would have to eat 14 bowls/ servings of Purely Os (which also have an unsafe level of Cadmium) — or 14 servings of Siete Chips (which also have an unsafe level of Cadmium).
–
No matter how you cut it, the amount of Cadmium in Seven Sundays Sunflower Cocoa Cereal is incredibly toxic and unsafe for children (adults, too — but there are no regulatory standards proposed for adults, gah).
–
Note: The Cadmium level must be really bad, since I (Lead Safe Mama) don’t even mention Seven Sundays’ Lead levels in the article — which are ALSO bad!
–
FOR CONTEXT, for all of the numbers in this chart, compare the number listed to the ACTION LEVEL in blue (at the top and bottom of the column): Is it a number equal to or higher than the action level? Then it should not be fed to children.
–
NOTE: This spreadsheet is abbreviated to save space for getting all of the information on each food product we have tested — please read the article on our website (link here).
I want to also share one of my comments from this article on Instagram.

I also put together this table and graphic to help shed light on the concern:

Tamara, your IG comment had me cackling. I wish more companies would choose to be Trail Blazers and admit the mistakes, correct it, and rally for change. Clearly that’s asking too much..

Their response was infuriating! I loved this company up until this moment, the only cereal I eat is their blueberry grain free cereal and now I’m in shock that all these years I’ve paid so much for bags of trash!? Is this just the coco flavor or does this extend to the others?, I would assume it would especially after that pitiful response they gave but I have to ask.. so sad and disappointed in them now

You should get tested for Cadmium if you have been eating this product on a regular basis. A Urine or hair metals panel should work – ask your doctor about those options.
