Update – June 1, 2024 – 12:30 PST: $145 has been raised in support of this testing so far. A full budget detailing the costs of testing that we are working to cover for each of the food products that Lead Safe Mama community members have asked us to test is included in the GoFundMe campaign narrative (on the GoFundMe website). Round #2! – This is the second Lead Safe Mama, LLC crowdfunding campaign created to help cover the cost of getting independent third party laboratory testing for metals (Lead, Cadmium, Mercury and Arsenic) done on a specific food product (chosen by the Lead Safe Mama online community) through Lead Safe Mama, LLC. This campaign was launched just before midnight on Thursday (May 30, 2024). Here’s the GoFundMe Link – https://gofund.me/1df6e9c1

If getting this specific cereal tested is of interest to you personally, do please consider contributing to this campaign. Contributions will help us cover the cost of independent laboratory testing (which for an individual is often cost-prohibitive) and other costs related to testing this specific item and publishing the results on the Lead Safe Mama website (publicly, free-of-charge, not behind a paywall).

If you are able to make a contribution in support of this testing project, any contribution – in any amount – would be helpful to publicly demonstrate the level of interest in this testing. No amount is “too small”. Frankly I would rather see three hundred $1.00 contributions (rather than three $100 contributions) because of the show of support for this testing that three hundred small contributions would demonstrate! GoFundMe does have a minimum contribution of $5.00 however (we hope to move some of this fundraising off of GoFundMe soon too – so people can also show their support with smaller contributions if they prefer!) Average contributions in support of this testing so far (since we opened this testing up for being supported through crowdfunding a few days ago) have been $10.40 each – with a low contribution of $5 and a high contribution of $25. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far and thank you in advance to anyone who is considering making a contribution.

Separately, here’s a Lead Safe Mama, LLC affiliate link to see the exact cereal we will be testing (on Amazon) – the link is so you can see it in the wild. We have no idea how this will test and do not intend for our sharing of this link to be an endorsement of the product in any way: https://amzn.to/3VnNLA6. (You can look all of these campaigns up directly on GoFundMe by putting “Lead Safe Mama” into the GoFundMe search bar.)
