Yesterday after dinner we decided to take a walk as a family (and try to reach a castle in the mountains near where we are staying). Three of us reached the castle, two did not. While I did not quite make it (it turned out to be a very long trek through extremely tricky terrain and I am still — two-and-a-half years later — recovering from breaking my leg!).
Len (my newly-65-year-old husband) made it… but not without incident; he re-injured his bad knee while climbing up onto a large boulder — leading with the wrong leg(!) — and then found himself a bit disoriented in the rocky, completely unmarked terrain! His experience with a small herd of what he described as “rescue sheep” in the forest was truly magical and he captured much of his amazing journey back out to civilization with his phone. So he made a little video (edited by our son Avi) and wanted to share that with his friends — it’s pretty funny!
This video, on the mountain with the sheep is absolutely amazing!

So sorry he got injured along the way, but what a lovely video! And so glad you’re enjoying Crete – such a magical place….
Awesome video of the castle hike and the rescue sheep! Great videography, commentary, and editing! Thank you for taking us along. 🙂
That was thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks for this lovely diversion. Your husband’s dialog is so funny and endearing. Best wishes to all of you!
