Lead Safe Mama, LLC is testing MORE glass baby bottles, April 2023

April 21, 2023 Friday

I just bought the bottles in this image for testing (and two others, as well; links to each of the exact bottles purchased are below). If anyone is in a position to chip in to help cover the costs of these bottles, that would be excellent. I have decided I am going to make a point of buying (& testing) all currently-available baby bottles for sale on Amazon each year (until we can get legislation passed that would hopefully criminalize the use of Lead paint and solder in baby feeding products!), as that is such an important ongoing concern. Note: contributions are not tax-deductible since Lead Safe Mama, LLC is not a non-profit. Thank you!

  1. Some of these are very uncommon brands that I think many moms would avoid because of that reason alone.

If possible please test glass baby bottles by Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature. I would definitely want to know those as that is what I recently used for my toddler and will throw 8f they end up leaded instead of giving to a mom in need. Also if you haven’t tested Dr Browns glass bottles that is another common one I see.

    Thank you!!

  2. I second the request for Tommee Tippee glass bottles as I have been using those for my daughter in addition to the Phillips advent you recommend. I will discard the Tommee Tippee if they indeed have lead, but I know they are a popular choice for a lot of families!

  3. Hi,
May i make a suggestion to test baby bottles that come with breastpumps and those that are usually covered by insurances since that is what most women will use? Medela, spectra, etc. to name some. Maybe even breastmilk bags that most women use to store milk;lasinoh, parents choice, etc.
