  1. Hi
I have a spoon just like this from when my daughter was a newborn. That was back in 1975. My daughter is now 46, so the spoon is at least that old. I received it as a baby gift.

  2. I have the same spoon it was my father’s soon when he was born in 1943 so I believe the soon is silver would like to have it looked at and authenticated just on yhe history alone is fascinating. The back says GERBER. ONEIDA….. not sure whY that means so if you have any knowledge about this please let me know

  3. Cnn you recommend home test kits for our vintage silverplate utensils (marked Linton Silverplate and Community Plate), probably 1930s or earlier? Looking for lead test kits that are accurate, and not too expensive!

    1. No – there are no home test kits for that sort of thing.

The exception would be if they have a soldered join point connecting the knife handle to the blade and if that was lead – that one part would test positive.
