Welcome new group members!!!!

If you have not yet seen the free preview screener of my documentary film about this issue, MisLEAD: America’s Secret Epidemic, it is up on YouTube for a bit longer [viewable for free for a very limited time – before we take it down so we can finish the film!]— and I strongly encourage you to watch it while it is up. The film is 92 minutes in length, and is truly a crash course in childhood Lead poisoning (and its prevention). It includes interviews with families of Lead-poisoned children and experts (in many fields that intersect with childhood Lead-poisoning) across the country. Viewers – both lay folks and industry & agency “insiders” consistently report they both learned valuable new information AND enjoyed the film — and so many have said they “wished they’d made the time to watch this film sooner!” The link to the film is at the bottom of this post.

Here’s the link to the Facebook group if you want to join and are not yet a member.

Other important housekeeping bits:

1.) GROUP RULES

PLEASE follow group rules when you are posting in the group. The group “Rules” post is pinned as an announcement at the top of the group. Posts that do not follow group rules may not be approved or may not be approved quickly. The main group rule that new people to the group tend to ignore is the requirement of including a relevant image with your post. This rule is there for you and for YOUR benefit. Given there are THOUSANDS of people in the group, we want your post (question / comment or otherwise) to stand out. We want you to get responses and answers to your questions. Adding a static image to your post helps you have the impact you desire (whatever that may be.) A static image is *not* a link with an image and is *not* a color block with words. A static image can be a photo or a screenshot of any appropriate image you like that is somehow relevant to your post.

2.) START HERE POST

The header image for the group has a link to the “START HERE” post on my blog. It is a great place to start your journey, and includes links to lots of good information and resources. Here’s the link to the Start Here post.

3.) ANNOUNCEMENTS

There are also several announcement posts pinned at the top of the group, which include the group rules, as well as my most up-to-date travel schedule. I am personally available for public outreach events (usually sponsored by health departments, corporations, religious groups, doctors offices, hospitals or local nonprofits), corporate events, corporate advising and consulting and one-on-one Healthy Home Consultations (with families) across the country with families in January, April and October each year.) Here’s a link to my upcoming available dates.

4.) SEARCH BAR

The Lead Safe Mama blog has a SEARCH BAR on every single page. If you are looking for something, just enter a few keywords in the search bar and all of the related posts will pop up. If you don’t find what you are looking for, enter fewer words. You can look for product types or brands or specific issues of concern. some examples of keywords are: “fine china”, “Franciscan Potteries”, “Made in England” or “Lead Paint” or “Blood Lead Testing” or “Autism.”

5.) BLOG HEADER MENU

The HEADER MENU on the blog (which can be found on each and every page here on TamaraRubin.com / LeadSafeMama.com)  has links to most of the more-searched-for posts – so also check out the header menu (and sub-menus which include—Types of Lead testing, What to test with an XRF, What to test with a home kit, “Stuff with Lead” etc.)

Thank you so much for being here!!!

If you do appreciate this work, and want to help out in some way – the most impactful way you can help is to go to the home page of the Lead Safe Mama blog and find a current popular post (the most popular posts are pinned at the top of the home page of the blog each day) and copy a link and share it on your pages (with a note to your friends about why this advocacy work and this issue is important to you.)

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for taking the time to read this!
