Saturday – June 08, 2019
Hello, and Happy Saturday! I have a few things I wanted to update you all on today…
#1… I’m in Chicago until June 17th [for a conference, and for home visits and outreach events with families], and I have still have a few days open in my schedule in the coming week (in case you know anyone who might want to connect with me [or hire me!] while I am here)! [Best to reach me by text: 415-609-3182.]
#2…I’m headed to Southern California (including Los Angeles/Santa Monica and San Diego) from June 26 through July 10th – and have availability in my schedule during that trip, too!
#3...Thank you all for reading my son Avi’s post (about his work finding lead in the drinking water at his middle school)! (And for sharing it, too — more than 7,800 people have read it since we published it just a few days ago)! Yesterday (Friday), Avi had another big success too: he graduated the 8th grade! We’re so proud of that kiddo (pic below!)
#4…It looks like I might finally have the opportunity to become the owner of my very own (new-to-me) XRF instrument in July (next month!). Woohoo! And I guess that’s maybe all I have to say about that right now; I will keep you posted!
#5…I found a spectacular civil rights attorney (with 30 years of experience) to represent me in my case suing the State of Oregon – and we are moving the case to the Federal courts! She is taking the case (which will likely be a 2+ year legal battle culminating in a jury trial) on contingency (also spectacular), and I just need to raise about $18,000 right now (fairly urgently) to cover the costs of expenses (including her expenses retainer to cover depositions and such – as well as outstanding bills due to the experts who have helped on the case so far). All ideas for helping to raise those funds are very welcome. [Paid work?, short-term loans to my business?, contributions?, etc.!) [Link here!]
#6…It looks like the sale of my late-mother’s land (in Napa, CA) will be going into escrow any moment now (we have an offer on the table, and are just waiting for one more signature)… so everyone who has helped me through this legal battle with loans over the past three years (including any new loans to help with #5 above) will be paid back with the close of escrow [scheduled to be “on or before 12/31/2019“].
With all of the good things happening, I expect my advocacy to really take off in the next 6 to 12 months – so hang on to your hats! 😉
Thanks for reading. Thanks for following. Thanks for supporting my advocacy work. Thanks for being here though all the chaos!
