  1. Hello Tamara,

We recently purchased Signature Housewares brand storage bowls from Costco, and have been trying to find out if they are lead-free. No one is forthcoming with any sort of documentation one way or the other. It is important for our family’s health to have lead-free culinary items. We looked at the report you have on your website: “Signature Housewares Incorporated Ceramic Food Storage Container: 2,107 ppm Lead.” Thank you for posting that info… however, we don’t know how to interpret those numbers in the report. Are the numbers indicating that there is lead in the containers? Your headline seems to indicate that, but then we see some “-” (negative symbols) in front of the numbers in the report. This is not our area of expertise… could you clarify for us? Thanks again for your website and for providing helpful information.

  2. Hello Tamara,

Checking back again… could you help us understand the test results for these Signature Housewares containers? the “-” (negative symbols) in the report are confusing to a lay person. Are these containers high in lead? What is the PPM? Thank you! 🙂

    Haley

      1. Hi Tamara, is this Signature Housewares dish one of the ones they advertise on the packaging as being lead free? We have a 2019 dog dish that was labeled on the box as lead free, and uncertain if the dish you tested would have been an older ceramic and whether it would still be comparable? Thank you!

  3. Hi, I purchased signature housewares bowl from Costo.com.

There is a symbol at the bottom of the bowl that I do not understand. It is the
no C/no F related to the temperature (the last one of the symbols).

Do you know what that sign (NOT ALLOWED to) means?

    Thanks, Thomas

  4. So, because these have a small level of lead, they are not to be used. I read your article and that is what it says. It’s funny because when you google these bowls, it says these bowls are lead free.
    Very disappointing!
    Thanks for all you do!!
