Is the ivy border of concern?
So what about the Barium? The stuff hundreds (or thousands) of patients gulp down in Radiology suites every day.
Yeah – the jury is out on the presence of Barium in dishware. My understanding is that it is added as a hardener in glass. I don’t have any confidence that anyone has studied the human health impacts from daily use of high-barium dishware. There is a discussion on that in the vision ware posts (in the comments) – I will try to find the specific post – but here is one:

This one has no lead but 2788 Cadmium, is this one safe?
So on the dishes with the red floral design, are the red cups the same concern?
I have a set of these (red floral border) that we only use on short camping trips a few times every summer. With that limited exposure, are they still a concern?
PS they were purchased new in 2016.
I have these exact plates, as well as the matching small side plates (with same red border) and bowls (with a single red line border). So should I just throw them out then? I have 2 small kids and we’ve been using them their whole lives
So if this pattern was purchased recently in the last 4 -5 years are they safe ?! I don’t understand as I have this pattern along with a blue one also in the list
I have the red floral borders. Bought them 2 years ago from Corelle’s web site The logo on the back is different Do you think they are safe
oh my gosh, I’m so glad you checked the logo on the back as my family licks that constantly….
I am not sure how to read these. Leadfree but are there other concerns? Should we use or dispose the dishes with the red decorative design?
I have the sandstone Corelle ware dishes which are off-white with no decorative designs. Have you tested them? I can’t find any information about their food safety. Thank you.
Yes – I have tested them and they are free of Lead, Cadmium, Mercury and Arsenic! (in all or most of the examples I have tested). Here’s one example – check out the test result for the unpainted section of the plate:
