September 2018 #FlashSale!
***** Final #FlashSale of 2018 *****
*******
This “Flash Sale” ends Monday (9/3) at midnight PST!

Usually folks contribute $150 towards my work (helping to cover the cost of XRF rental and other costs related to testing consumer goods and reporting the results) and in exchange they can send in a box of up to 10 things for testing (usually 9 simple items and one complex/multi-component item.)

As a way to help drum up some funds towards this important work to help cover my advocacy costs headed into the Fall I am having a #FlashSale – through Monday, 9/3 at midnight.

For a limited time only, you can send in a box of things to test as a benefit of a $75 contribution in support of this work (50% off!). This is the FINAL #FlashSale I will do this year (2018.)

If you make a contribution during this #FlashSale – you will have up to 12 months from now (until September 2, 2019) to send me a box of stuff to test using this discounted rate. Note: to have your items tested in a lab and receive a formal report can be as much as $70 per component or more (with testing of multi-component items often reaching into the thousands of dollars), so this is a terrific opportunity to screen your personal items for potential toxicants without the prohibitive cost of lab testing.

As always, you will need to cover return shipping in order to have the items sent back to you (or you can send me a box of items that you don’t need sent back.)

These are the test results I report on my blog (stuff people send me to test!) So, by participating in this independent consumer goods testing, you are helping to increase the knowledge-base of potentially toxic (and potentially safe) consumer goods out there! In order that there not be a lot of duplication of testing (folks sending me stuff that I have already tested), with your contribution I include time for advance review and coaching as to what you choose to send me (you can send me pictures, links and descriptions and I will let you know if it is a likely candidate to have lead or cadmium or similar – and if it would be worth testing OR if it is something I have already tested and have the results posted for!)

For things you might want to have tested with an XRF, check out this link:

If you are interested in having your soil tested through this opportunity, click this link for more information:

This is an opportunity to participate directly in independent consumer goods testing and lead poisoning prevention advocacy.

I am not affiliated with any organization or nonprofit & your contribution is therefore NOT tax-deductible.

You will *not* receive a formal report with your test results (the results will be posted and viewable on my blog to help families everywhere make informed decisions about the types of consumer goods they have in their home), however please note that the instrument used for testing (a Niton XRF with a consumer goods testing software module) is the same instrument used by the CPSC to determine if consumer goods contain toxicants.

As always, thank you for reading and please let me know if you have any questions!
