Is this the mug? https://www.crateandbarrel.com/maison-mug/s556262
I don’t know. I would need to see the bottom mark of the one in your link to know more. There is no line mark on this …no style mark. The one in my photo seems to have a more tapered bottom than the one in the link you shared. I can see if the owner of the mug knows the style name.
Daphna, I believe it is the Maison mug. I bought a few not too long ago, hoping for the best. I was glad to know it is lead safe, although i wish there was no barium.
I skimmed through all your mugs, would you say this is the safest to buy? I need to purchase a new set, what would you reccomend? I’m not sure what the standard is for all the other metals tested. Thanks
Hi Rene,
Thank you for commenting.
I would never recommend nor buy anything from this brand (Crate & Barrel) ever. In my opinion – from a toxicant perspective they are not an ethical company and there is too much variation in their products (their products are too often likely to have Lead or other toxicants and they have not exhibited enough of a track record in recent history of producing consistently Lead-free products.)

Hi, I got 15oz white mugs (item 1864) and 11oz white mugs (item 1856) from http://www.hfcoors.com and love them as they are thicker than other companies protecting your hands from heat more, and I believe Tamara said all their stuff is safe?
I’m disappointed in Tamara!s comment about crate and barrel as I bought all white plates and bowls from them after sending a bowl to Tamara and it tested safe.
Hi Felicia!
New ones are *probably* fine… but I just don’t like the company and things can go back and forth (like with Starbucks – they made Lead-free for a window and then went back to making Leaded mugs.)

I was also about to purchase all-new dishes and mugs from crate and barrel after reading tons of info from your site. I even contacted crate and barrel and they claim that they are very careful and it is extremely important to them to only sell lead-free dishes and glasses. But now I am questioning it. If you want something nicer than just Corelle or plain glass dishes ( I. have those) is there anything with a more modern look that is safe? Thank you so much for all of your help and guidance!
Danielle, I recommend the HF Coordinations mugs (I don’t know if you need mugs too). The mugs are way higher quality than anything I’ve found at Crate and Barrel or elsewhere…way thicker, etc.
The 15oz mugs are AMAZNG, and I also love their 11oz mugs. I wanted everything to be white, so the 12oz didn’t work for me, as they weren’t really white. I haven’t yet tried their bowls or plates…I have the same question for those – are they really white, or the more beige white they sometimes offer?
I bought the following dishes from Crate and Barrel, making sure that the writing on the bottom was not RAISED, as Tamara has taught us that RAISED markings often contain lead.
Bistro bowls – Tamara tested this, but as she said, it could change over time and we wouldn’t know: https://tamararubin.com/2018/11/lead-free-large-white-ceramic-crate-barrel-martin-hunt-bistro-bowl/
I just realized that the plates and smaller bowls I bought have RAISED lettering on the bottom – they are called ‘Essentials’ at Crate & Barrel. I’m going to pack them up today and send to Tamara for testing. If they test positive, I’m going to ask for my money back and get something else.

I appreciate your accuracy Tamara. So needed today when we have no transparency from companies. I will have to look into hf Coors plates and bowls on the future.
Hi! Did you test the plates and bowls in this line or just the mugs?
Hi Yasmin, the way things work is people send me items to test and help contribute to cover the cost of the testing. Each post has photos of the exact item tested. If you cannot find the specific item you are looking for, please watch this video to help you better understand how to search the blog: https://youtu.be/vDqTi5KSQt0
