Pampered Chef Baking Tray, c. 2013:
24 ppm Lead when tested with an XRF instrument.
This is considered safe by all standards.
The amount of lead that is regulated and considered unsafe in items manufactured and intended for use by children is anything 90 ppm Lead or higher in the paint or coating (or 100 ppm Lead or higher in the substrate.)
Most of the Pampered Chef items I have tested have been negative for Lead, so I was surprised to find even any trace of Lead in this pan.
If you appreciate what I do (XRF testing of consumer goods and sharing the results here and on Twitter and Facebook!), the simplest way you can help support my advocacy work at NO EXTRA COST to you is to click on the Amazon affiliate links in the post or Amazon ads to the right on this page (or on the bottom if you are on your phone!). If you click on any of the links before you start your Amazon shopping as you normally would, then Amazon sends me a small percentage of whatever you spend – and you don’t even have to buy the items pictured! 😉
As always thank you for reading and for sharing my posts.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Is this one a baking stone? Is it from a certain year by chance? Ty!!
Crystle says
I now see the year but would love to know if it’s baking stone 🙂

This is a baking stone, the large sheet pan to be exact.

Thank you, Tamara.

You are very welcome!

I see the comment “This is a baking stone, the large sheet pan to be exact.” I’m perplexed. A baking stone and a sheet pan are two different things. The picture looks like a pan. Tamara…have you tested any “baking stones?”
Tamara says
I think this is a stone pan – I will update the post (I will check with the owner!) Thanks for the heads up.

Have you tested the rockcroc cookwear?
Julie says
I’m curious about this as well. I was told by pampered chef that the clay does have traces of lead that are naturally occurring in clay. They also use this clay as part of the glazing process for the rockcrok. They said yes it could contain traces of lead on the cooking surface as well….. but they said it would be within safe limits ♀️ . I’m curious if you test it, what the actual numbers are.
They also discussed with me the enameled cast iron, and it has “safe limits” of lead and cadmium on the inside and outside of their enameled cast iron.

Hi, my daughter is hooked on your website and so I am looking at it as well! I just got a new pampered chef pan and I really love it so I was looking on your website about pampered Chef glad to see that they’re relatively harmless as far as manufacturing things for us to use in our kitchens but this pan is amazing and I’m gonna be so sad if it’s not safe. It’s a newer no stick version of a pan and I was wondering if you’ve reviewed any of the newer ones that have come out on their website in the last year or two?
Tamara says
Hi Judy –
Welcome! I haven’t tested any of their newer pieces -sorry about that!
Here’s how to participate in the testing we do here:
