For those new to the Lead Safe Mama website:

My friend Carissa and I decided to do some “drop-in XRF Testing“ of new products in stores (testing them for the presence of toxic heavy metals, including Lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic). Please note: We’re calling it #GuerrillaXRFTesting because you are mostly not allowed to film in stores (not because you are not allowed to use an XRF in stores)! XRF instruments have been specifically designed for use in the field ;-). Please take a look at the seven little videos we made this week and let me know (in the comments) if you have any questions!
You can support Lead Safe Mama’s advocacy work here via GoFundMe!
If you are interested in purchasing some of the items shown in the video (or similar items), of course you can go to Target — but I have also listed some of those items here as Amazon affiliate links. If you purchase anything through one of these links, Lead Safe Mama receives a small percentage of the purchase price to help with our advocacy work (at no extra cost to you!). Thank you! Check out Carissa’s website while you are at it, too: Creative Green Living!

You are my hero <3
Were all the Threshold dinnerware sets safe?.
The only video I could find was on the white sets.
Some of the more colorful Threshold items tested positive for lead (low levels but still positive) and also cadmium (if I recall correctly.) Go to the Creative Green Living video channel to see all the videos (on YouTube.)
I was just at Target and noticed that among the pure white Threshold dishes, some say “made in Indonesia” (such as the oval platter you tested in your video) and some say “made in China.” They are both Threshold brand. The ones from Indonesia seem to have more of a grey undertone to the white and are not as shiny as the ones from China. Have you tested any of the all-white Threshold dishes that say “made in China”?
I would really love to know the answer to this, too!
The video has disappeared. I’d love to learn whether my white Threshold dishes purchased in 2016 are lead-free. How can I watch? Thank you!
Videos will not work for me. They’re gone.
