While I try to keep my spirits up in light of the new knowledge related to the digital, back-linked smear campaign orchestrated against us by what is LITERALLY a multi-hundred-million-dollar children’s supplement company, this is not an easy task. They appear to be winning in their goal to ruin our credibility, thereby ruining our ability to earn the funds / raise the funds to keep the work going. The main impact of this digital smear campaign has been the lack of reach and apparent “shadow ban” of our social media accounts, making Patreon the only reliable way we can reach our audience. A good part of the Lead Safe Mama Team is “on pause” in their work for us (having taken on other part time jobs and projects) as we can no longer afford to pay them. Our website hosting fee is coming due in a day and we do not have funds to cover that basic cost. Instead of testing and reporting on 30 products a month we are down to bare-bones, testing and reporting on 6 to 10 products a month (thanks to the funds you contribute on Patreon). We are also starting out October with a monthly operating deficit of just about $1,100.

That said, we are thankful for the enormous infusion of support in the past month – September was amazing, however the costs related to our legal team, combined with our earned income currently falling far below half of what we were earning two years ago – makes these days especially challenging. Hopefully the phrase “it’s always darkest before the dawn” describes where we are — and that a new future will be here soon, but in the meantime the day-to-day struggle to keep Lead Safe Mama, LLC alive is significant.

Today we announced on social media four of the six products that we will be publishing lab reports for this month with the funds being contributed by so many of you – our paid Patreon Members. This includes a cinnamon supplement capsule and three toothpaste products. We will also be publishing the lab reports for Kokua sunscreen (which was funded through a crowd-sourced campaign GoFundMe) and for NEEDED prenatal multi gummies (funding partly gifted by one of our Patreon members).

We would LOVE LOVE LOVE to move ahead with our efforts to hold Gimme Seaweed Snacks accountable for selling toxic products to their target audience of young children, however our recently launched GoFundMe to help cover the costs for that initiative has raised only $5.00 to date (in spite of hundreds of people asking us to re-test products from this brand): https://gofund.me/0dd39eaf7

In response to this, we’ve decided to take another approach for funding at least part of the testing and reporting for the first of four of the retest of the Gimme Seaweed Snacks. As soon as we have SIX (6) new Patreon members contributing 25.00 a month or more, we will allocate those newly raised funds towards the Gimme Seaweed testing project, and subsidize the remaining costs (of testing the first of those four products) with otherwise unallocated gifted funds.

You can see in the graphic above that we have a total of $3,116 being contributed each month via Patreon. With six new $25.00 gifts that number will jump to $3,266.
