Hi friends!
–
We published three more new lab reports in the past 24 hours — Organic Sweet Almond Massage Oil, Jolly Rancher Green Apple Hard Candies, and La Petite Crème Diapering Lotion. Each of these products tested clean (woot!), and will be new additions to our lab-tested safer choices list (which will be updated shortly), so I am also sharing our aflinks for the exact products we tested:
–
Oil: https://amzn.to/4wgIgUA
Candy: https://amzn.to/4tajnXD
Diapering Lotion: https://amzn.to/42OfCML
–
Some highlights from these lab reports:
–
~ We tested the candy to demonstrate and confirm that the State of Florida’s reported / published test results (from January 2026) are incorrect.
–
~ We tested the massage oil because that’s the massage oil I have personally been using for a couple of decades, possibly longer (like 3+ decades) — and I wanted to confirm that it was clean so I could recommend it to all of you with confidence.
–
~ We tested the Diapering Lotion because we wanted to see if all products from La Petite Crème were clean (and they are – yay!) While we rarely recommend entire brands, we’re super excited when we find a brand that has clean products across the board!
–
As I mentioned a while back, we’re doing Patreon Membership Appreciation Giveaways for La Petite Crème’s Organic Diaper Balm. They have donated ten tubs of the product for us to give away. All you have to do to be entered for a chance to win is to be an active member on our Patreon channel at the time of the drawing. If you are not yet an active LSM Patreon member, here’s the link to join: https://www.patreon.com/leadsafemama/membership
–
Reminder: You do not need to be a paid member to be entered for a chance to win, all active members (paid and free) at the time of the drawing – are eligible.

Here are the articles for each of these three products – each article includes the full original lab report for the product. The lab report can always be found at the very bottom of each product-specific article – below the sharable social media graphic and below the full list of lab-tested safer choices (which is also embedded in each article):

If you are already a Lead Safe Mama Patreon member, please consider bumping up your Patreon membership by $1.00 or $2.00 a month to help us cover the costs for testing and reporting of more products each month (including the Florida candies testing initiative!) Thank you!
–
We are just $464.00 in monthly Patreon gifts away from our Spring Goal, which means we simply need 117 new friends to join us at our current average Patreon gift of $3.98 a month to meet this goal (or TEN friends to join us at the $50.00 a month level – a level at which YOU get to choose a product for testing and reporting after your third monthly gift!) Thank you for considering supporting Lead Safe Mama, LLC in this way — hundreds of small gifts can quickly add up to make a big difference in bridging the gap in funding for our lab testing initiative and our legal fund.
–
For those who are new here — I also wanted to share that as of today (May 5, 2026) we have already published eight articles this month, including SIX newly published lab reports. Here’s one link that shows everything published so far this month (which includes two updates on our legal “entanglements” with bad-acting manufacturers):

Hi, I am trying to find out if you have ever tested psyllium husk for lead? I want to buy whole psyllium husk, as it’s an important ingredient for gluten free baking. However the products I’m seeing online seem to have Proposition 65 warnings for lead on them. I’m new to your website and can’t seem to figure out where to find a list of foods you’ve tested. I’d appreciate it if you can steer me in the right direction, thanks!
We have not. Many other independent research studies have demonstrated that psyllium husk is heavily lead contaminated.
T
Thanks! I googled it and could only find one study that is behind a paywall. I’d really encourage you guys to do a study on it if you get a chance. Psyllium husk is very commonly used both for gluten-free food products and baking, and for fiber supplements such as Metamucil. I was really hoping to use it for both reasons as I have celiac disease with ongoing gut health problems. But if it’s just going to give me lead poisoning, I’ll have to find another solution.
I’m so glad that you asked this Rachel! I too am gluten free and I use Pure Indian Foods brand all of the time. A veterinarian told me to give some to my cat who was having digestion disorders and constipation. Agree! Come on Lead Safe Mama, get crackin! This is a majorly common treatment and food source. A Psyllium sidebar: It can make many medications not work, it will absorb them. For anyone taking Lithium – throw it away!
All we need to “get crackin” is a $495.00 sponsorship to cover our costs of testing and reporting.
If you would like to sponsor us in testing and reporting on this product you can send funds by any of the ways noted below or check out the $25.00 and $50.00 per month Patreon levels, which are a way to nominate a product for testing without covering the full cost. Thank you!
