Random stuff I have purchased for myself and kids (just in case you are curious):
11.) This metal detector is 52% off today and will pay for itself in just a few hours — as far as savings on babysitters go (keeping the kids outside and busy for hours and hours all summer)! This is the second time we bought this item (the first one was “misplaced” in our cross-country trip in 2020). I RARELY buy anything battery-operated but this is a worthwhile exception and a learning tool: https://amzn.to/4blQdgf
12.) This mini instant film camera is 20% off today and is what we chose as Charlie’s birthday present this year (he has wanted one for five years now!): https://amzn.to/3ysv9WT
13.) This pack of film goes with the item above and is also 20% off (we also got this for his birthday — Charlie will be turning 16 this year): https://amzn.to/3ysZpks
14.) The final part of the birthday present (to go with the two above items) — not on sale, but fairly inexpensive: https://amzn.to/3ULjWrL
15.) This laminator is 29% off today and I recently purchased it for myself (for work and for fun!). I give up my “crunchy card” for this one, I guess! I had one of these 22 years ago when our house burned down and never replaced it. They have gone down considerably in price since then (great for making Christmas ornaments or other holiday decorations that will be used year after year — so perhaps the environmental impact is countered, in that way!): https://amzn.to/4bKvl28
16.) I recently got this tin sign for myself just for fun — (a thing I rarely do) — as I want the little kids walking by our house in the summer to know they can pick the blackberries on our fence! It is 8% off today: https://amzn.to/454Rfep
17.) I also got one of these metal signs for our fence so our neighbors would not complain about our tall grass and “weeds!” It is not on sale, but it is inexpensive: https://amzn.to/3QMuHZB
18.) These disinfectant wipes have a 15% coupon right now on Amazon — I stocked up and bought four boxes last week. We have a lot of dust to clean up after being gone for most of the past six months! https://amzn.to/3V3rXts
19.) I also bought one of these test kits for my son (not on sale) since he moved into a new apartment recently. This is a must have for anyone moving to a new place in an urban environment or that was built before 1978: https://amzn.to/4azNlva
20.) Not on sale, but we keep these wipes stocked up in our house, too, because we have large messy men in the house (and these are biodegradable): https://amzn.to/3V7TREA
21.) This fishing magnet set is one of my youngest son’s favorite toys for summer fun at the beach (no batteries needed, but it can scratch the finish of your car, so be careful!) — it is good for hours and hours of fun and Amazon has a 20% coupon for it right now. I often buy these as gifts for the younger folks in our life (great birthday present, but does require some parental supervision in certain circumstances!): https://amzn.to/4atQMn0
You don’t need to purchase an item recommended by Lead Safe Mama, LLC (on Amazon) for us to possibly receive a percentage of what you spend — you only need to click one of our Amazon affiliate links before you start any shopping you were already planning on doing and we may receive a percentage of what you spend (at no extra cost to you), no matter what you buy!

What are the pollutants (air quality-wise) from the recent wildfire smoke drifting in from Canada? It seems they are forecast to continue burning out of control, perhaps thru much of the summer. Is there any ‘heavy metal’ (such as arsenic, cadmium, mercury, lead, etc.) potentially in that smoke? Other concerns?

Thanks for this information. I ordered a new tea pot from your list. I’m envisioning the day when packaging will carry a LSM seal of approval , thereby assuring consumers that products carrying that seal of approval are free of lead and other heavy metals and safe to use. It will be the antithesis of the ⚠️ CA Prop 65 warning label.
