For those new to this website:
Tamara Rubin is a multiple-federal-award-winning independent advocate for childhood Lead poisoning prevention and consumer goods safety, and a documentary filmmaker. She is also a mother of Lead-poisoned children (two of her sons were acutely Lead-poisoned in 2005). Since 2009, Tamara has been using XRF technology (a scientific method used by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission) to test consumer goods for toxicants (specifically heavy metals — including Lead, Cadmium, Mercury, Antimony, and Arsenic). All test results reported on this website are science-based, accurate, and replicable. Items are tested multiple times to confirm the test results for each component tested. Tamara’s work was featured in Consumer Reports Magazine in February of 2023 (March 2023 print edition).

Anyone know if the WINSA glass tumbler brand on Amazon is safe? I’ve been trying to find a Stanley style approved glass tumbler.. I don’t know if you have one recommended somewhere and I’m just missing it?! I just bought this brand and wondering if I need to return! Thanks in advance!

I saw an article talking about lead in old Tupperware, and fortunately I found your website. I ordered (before I read the warning on your site saying they were a waste of money) one of those kits made in China to test dishes. I tested everything in my kitchen cabinet. The only things that did not change color were some clear dishes I had along with some newer Tupperware. My husband and I were beside ourselves as we were throwing literally everything in the trash. THEN, and only then did it occur to me to come back to your website to see if I had made some mistake. The only one being that I had bought those cheap, panic causing sticks. Anyway, I was looking to see what I could use and saw only Scitus, made in the USA. It is only for painted surfaces it says in the description. Not dishes. Please, tell me what I can do to test my dishes. Thank you very much.
