  1. The most highly rated electric tea kettle on many sites is the Cuisinart PerfecTemp electric kettle. Have you ever tested this for lead? I couldn’t find it with a search on your site, but it looks to be mostly metal. Thoughts or concerns? (We have it on our wedding registry right now.)

    1. Hi Tamara! Iā€™m wondering if when you suggest a product like this, if they test clean for ALL heavy metals not just lead?
      Thank you so much!

  2. Hi šŸ™‚ we purchased this at your recommendation and noticed that the caulking on the inner base of the kettle is exposed to the water. Is it the same on yours? Not sure this is safe.

    1. It is slightly different on mine – but the seal is the same silicone that is at the spout – and it tested negative for heavy metals – so I don’t have a concern for it personally.

      1. Thanks for getting back to me on this. How is it different on yours? Is the caulking not exposed on yours? If so, how can I find something like that? It worries me because I don’t know if there is BPA or other not so great chemicals in the silicone caulking that the water I ingest is constantly being boiled in direct contact with the silicone; I can’t imagine that’s a benign situation. I was super surprised to observe this in a kettle recommended by you. I really appreciate all the work you do to try and highlight the environmental toxins casually living around us.

    2. Yea i also order this black model and also immediately observe the caulking and inserted my hand to touch it and it feels horrible a d soft not safe at all , giving boil water to my kids . Just got it today and going back today for return! I really wanted to love this because its so beautiful , ill be ordering a stainless steel kettle for the stove:)

    1. Do you know if the Cosori gooseneck temperature controlled electric kettle is safe? I think it’s made in China. Thanks.

  3. Hi Tamara,

Thanks for your posts. The glass kettle you have recommend is 3x the price in Canada. Do you have a list of any other electric glass kettles or stain steel kettles? We are also interested in a gooseneck kettle for coffee and tea. Those options all seem to be stainless steel. Any tips of how to move forward or recommendations would be really appreciated.
