11 years ago today I was presented with my first award from the Federal government… & this is where things stand today (this week!)

Thanks to “Facebook Memories” I got a reminder about this post from 11 years ago today.

June 22, 2022 – Wednesday

11 years ago this week (11 years ago today) I won my first award from the Federal Government for my childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Advocacy work (my first award ever for this work). No years ago this week (aka this week actually – in June of 2022) we will (on June 28th) be hearing from the Judge in my Federal Civil Rights Case (in which I am suing the State of Oregon for multiple counts of civil rights violations perpetrated against me – violations which attempted to destroy me and shut down my advocacy work entirely). She will determine (this week) if we get to go ahead with the case, moving on to jury trial.

I am not a “thoughts and prayers” type of girl (in general – I tend towards immediate action if I can!) – but feel free to send all of your thoughts and prayers our way (leading up to and on June 28th- the day of our hearing with the Federal judge. This is the first hearing in our Federal case.) Contributions in support of the work of my legal team are always welcome too! [Or hiring me so I can have the funds to pay my legal team directly out of earned income!]

~ Thank you for being here.
~ Thank you for participating in the work of Lead Safe Mama, LLC by trusting me, by believing and working to understand the science, by reading what I write and sharing it with those you love (to help them protect their families and communities from exposure to Lead and other toxic chemicals in their environment).
~ Thank you – always – for your support, encouragement and friendship – now and over the past 12 years especially.

  1. Thank you for sharing this time capsule. In a sane world you would have garnered more positive recognition (and accolades) for your work instead of having to engage in a legal battle to protect your livelihood and continue your important advocacy work.

    1. Thank you! I need to write an update! I was misunderstanding the process when I wrote this, I thought the judge would issue a ruling the same day or the next day (I guess I have watched too much Perry Mason!) We had our hearing on the 28th but now we just have to wait for the judge’s ruling! It could be months or even as long as year before she issues a ruling! Because it is summer I was told by a friend in the local legal community that we shouldn’t expect it before September, although there’s also a chance the judge could publish her decision in as little time as a few weeks from now…. needless to say … there’s just a tiny bit of anxiety over here these days… waiting… waiting…. waiting! 🙂
