Note: With non-destructive testing, given the size of the ring it does not fill up the testing area (a circle about 1 cm in diameter) of the XRF instrument. With this consideration, the amounts of metals detected should be considered as comparative levels (totals compared to other metals detected) not direct percentages of total content – with all metals detected listed. So, for example, the reading of gold at 207,700 ppm does not mean that the ring is only 20% gold – but that – compared to the other metals the gold was the most prevalent metal.
