Introduction:

Tamara Rubin is an independent advocate for consumer goods safety and she is also a mother of Lead-poisoned children. She began testing consumer goods for toxicants in 2009 and was the parent-advocate responsible for finding Lead in the popular fidget spinner toys in 2017. She uses XRF testing (a scientific method used by the Consumer Product Safety Commission) to test consumer goods for contaminants including Lead, Cadmium, Mercury and Arsenic. Lead (Pb): 35,200 +/- 300 ppm
Cadmium (Cd): 479 +/- 9 ppm
Mercury (Hg): 58 +/- 11 ppm
Bromine (Br): non-detect
Chromium (Cr): non-detect
Nickel (Ni): 93 +/- 26 ppm
Zinc (Zn): 9 +/- 6 ppm
Titanium (Ti): 18,600 +/- 600 ppm
Zirconium (Zr): 320 +/- 7 ppm
Antimony (Sb): 15 +/- 7 ppm
Platinum (Pt): 345 +/- 41 ppm

On the gray (unpainted) bottom of the glass

Lead (Pb): 39 +/- 5 ppm
Cadmium (Cd): 5 +/- 3 ppm
Bromine (Br): 4 +/- 1 ppm
Iron (Fe): 338 +/- 55 ppm
Nickel (Ni): 184 +/- 34 ppm
Zinc (Zn): 13 +/- 6 ppm
Zirconium (Zr): 316 +/- 7 ppm
Antimony (Sb): 22 +/- 6 ppm
