Should we generally be concerned about leather goods at all? (I mean the actual leather, not the metal attachments.)
I’m unsure if the levels of other metals listed for this belt’s leather are worrisome or not.
Just bought new leather dog leash and collar (still has packaging tags on though), and wondering about issues there.
I was wondering the same thing about leather, generally–particularly after reading that the vast majority of leather is chromium tanned, which seems to result in a heavy metal stew…
Even more problematic is that synthetic leathers with vinyl coatings seem to be even worse offenders (find vegetable tanned leathers for dress shoes might be tough if it comes to it…)
Are there any lead-free belts that you recommend?
