When tested with an XRF instrument the eraser pictured here had the following readings:
- Barium (Ba): 1,892 +/- 415 ppm
- Iron (Fe): 237 +/- 110 ppm
- Titanium (Ti): 3,369 +/- 245 ppm

Are erasers a problem for lead, or not usually?

I have not seen this to be a problem, however there are those little colorful toys sold as erasers that come from different countries (mostly Japan and China) and are made of eraser-like material and I have not done enough testing of those toys to know either way. They could have toxic colorants in them I suppose – but I just have not done enough testing to know for sure. (*she adds it to the list!)
