2019 light up unicorn bath toy. Negative for Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Arsenic & Antimony in all accessible components.

When tested with an XRF instrument this little unicorn bath light up toy (link*) had the following reading:

1) Pink hair of unicorn:

  • Lead (Pb): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Mercury (Hg): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Cadmium (Cd): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Arsenic (As): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Antimony (Sb): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Barium (Ba): 62 +/- 39 ppm
  • Bromine (Br): 29 +/- 4 ppm
  • Iron (Fe): 93 +/- 46 ppm

2) Gold horn of unicorn:

  • Lead (Pb): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Mercury (Hg): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Cadmium (Cd): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Arsenic (As): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Antimony (Sb): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Barium (Ba): 169 +/- 45 ppm
  • Bromine (Br): 30 +/- 5 ppm
  • Iron (Fe): 3,473 +/- 155 ppm
  • Titanium (Ti): 27,700 +/- 1,800 ppm

3) Black and white eyes of unicorn:

  • Lead (Pb): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Mercury (Hg): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Cadmium (Cd): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Arsenic (As): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Antimony (Sb): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Barium (Ba): 104 +/- 36 ppm
  • Bromine (Br): 24 +/- 4 ppm
  • Iron (Fe): 124 +/- 47 ppm
  • Titanium (Ti): 70,900 +/- 2,200 ppm

4) White plastic of battery compartment cover on back of the unicorn:

  • Lead (Pb): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Mercury (Hg): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Cadmium (Cd): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Arsenic (As): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Antimony (Sb): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Barium (Ba): 159 +/- 46 ppm
  • Bromine (Br): 27 +/- 5 ppm
  • Tin (Sn): 1,228 +/- 29 ppm
  • Zinc (Zn): 66 +/- 21 ppm
  • Iron (Fe): 93 +/- 52 ppm

5) Metal element on plastic of battery compartment cover on back of the unicorn:

  • Lead (Pb): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Mercury (Hg): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Cadmium (Cd): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Arsenic (As): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Antimony (Sb): Non-Detect / Negative
  • Barium (Ba): 177 +/- 50 ppm
  • Bromine (Br): 19 +/- 6 ppm
  • Tin (Sn): 874 +/- 26 ppm
  • Zinc (Zn): 69 +/- 24 ppm
  • Nickel (Ni): 7,487 +/- 172 ppm
  • Iron (Fe): 41,100 +/- 700 ppm

Each test was done using a freshly calibrated XRF instrument in “Consumer Goods” mode. Testing was repeated on each component to confirm the results. Testing time for each component was for at least 60 seconds. Results are replicable, science-based, and accurate. Metals not listed in the above test results sets were not detected by the XRF when testing in Consumer Goods mode.
