Lead Safe Mama is hiring subcontractors to help with projects

Hi friends!
Lead Safe Mama, LLC needs help in a few key areas to keep up with the number of inquiries and request for assistance that we have each day, as well as to maintain and grow the business.
Please let me know if you know anyone that might be qualified for and interested in helping in these areas. All positions are subcontractor work (not salaried positions.) This is primarily because we are not currently able to offer any benefits above hourly pay (or project-based pay), however each of the positions has the opportunity to grow with the organization and become a salaried position with benefits down the line.
1. Outreach Event Coordinator
(remote, paid on commission)
Updated: September 22, 2023
This person will become a key member of the Lead Safe Mama team. They will help book and coordinate Lead Safe Mama speaking engagements and outreach events around the country and the world. A (generous) per-event commission will be paid upon confirmation of (payment for) each event booked.
Skills required:
- Excellent phone / people skills; you will be making a lot of calls and talking to a lot of people. This job must be done by someone who is comfortable making calls to “warm” leads (people working for organizations that are likely already interested in [and have funding for] hosting an event.)
- Excellent organizational skills (including prompt return of phone calls, timely follow up e-mail communications, thorough research of prospective candidates for future events, managing timelines and schedules out two years, keeping and maintaining spreadsheets or databases to track progress.)
- Requirement: Must have blocks of distraction-free availability 3 to 5 days a week (you set your own schedule) for initiating and returning professional-quality phone calls without any background noise or interruptions.
- Estimated time commitment: Self-directed 10 to 20 hours a week.
- Anticipated Pay Rate (based on commission): likely in the $25/$50 per hour range depending on how organized / efficient you can be.
- Looking for someone who can start immediately.
Lead Safe Mama, LLC outreach events range in event fees (paid by the host) from $2,500 to $10,000. Commission paid to person helping in this position is currently 10%. As an example: Commission on confirming a $2,500 event is $250. It is anticipated that a $2,500 outreach event can be confirmed with between 5 and 10 hours of work (making the rate of pay $25 to $50/hour). Event fees are normally paid in full (by the event host) at least 6 weeks prior to the event and commission will be paid to the Lead Safe Mama Outreach Event Coordinator upon receipt of funds from the host of the event.
We primarily tour the United States for Outreach Events in April and October each year. In the coming year we will be in Europe from November through May and need help setting up outreach events in Europe (primarily working with families at U.S. military bases throughout Europe). The Next U.S. Tour will be October 2024 – and if there is interest we may also book U.S. dates in June of 2024. Outreach event hosts are typically Health Departments (city, state or county), Hospitals, Universities / Colleges or nonprofits with a public health focus. We start booking in December for events the following October.
If desired, the first 10-hours of work for this position can be paid hourly at $25/hour to give the person a chance to get up to speed on the process.

Notes for all Lead Safe Mama, LLC subscontractor positions:
September 22, 2023 Update
- There may be more than one individual assigned to any of the particular tasks.
- Training will be provided by zoom (paid hourly).
- Zoom meetings with all team members will happen periodically as well (paid hourly).
- We request that subcontractors use a desktop or laptop computer for work as work done on a phone (or tablet) significantly limits the speed at which someone can do this work (for most of the work you need to have multiple screens open at the same time, side by side.) Your efficiency in the various projects will influence our ability to pay a higher hourly rate in the future.
- We request that potential subcontractors watch our documentary feature film before interviewing about the position. The film is 92 minutes long and provides context and a background for the work we do here and is the best tool to prepare for the interview.
- We encourage potential subcontractors to review the website menu (linked in the header menu at the top of every page of the site) prior to interviewing with us as well.
- Interviews are typically done by zoom – for 30 minutes to one hour – to determine which projects and focus areas might work well for the particular subcontractor. We always encourage candidates to choose areas of work that use their strengths but that also give them an opportunity to learn and grow their skillsets for future work they may do.
- Given our pay-cycle (the timing with which we get paid from our advertising contracts and other regular sources) we request that subcontractors bill us monthly if at all possible (sending us invoices for the month’s work between the 29th and 1st of the month ideally.)
- We request that invoices be broken out with line items for days worked and projects worked on. For example:
- 12/1/23 – 1 hour, Facebook Join Requests
- 12/2/23 – 2 hour, Facebook Page Questions (Responses)
- 12/3/23 – 1 hour, Facebook Group Question Responses
- Invoices will be paid monthly upon receipt (normally two weeks of receipt of the invoice and typically sooner.) Summer months may require a 3 week timeline for payment as our income is significantly lower from June through September.
- If you use Venmo for receiving payments, we request that you send us a Venmo Money Request to facilitate making payments on your invoice.
That’s all for now.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
