August 30, 2019 – Update (Friday afternoon)…
It looks like August is definitely going to be closing out as #LeadSafeMama’s 2nd #BestMonthEver.
To reach this goal, we just have to pass 202,720 views before the end of the month – and at the current rate of about 5,500 – 6,000 views a day, that will probably happen sometime tonight! 🙂 This will make August second only to March 2019 – which was #TupperwareGate2019 with 1,302,553 unique views – a month that is unlikely to be bumped out of 1st place any time soon!
So what!? Why should I care?
This is remarkable for many reasons… however the most significant reason that this is remarkable is because summer months are typically the slowest months of the year (in terms of website traffic.) Here’s another reason this is remarkable… LeadSafeMama’s August numbers for previous years:
- 2018: 50,050 unique views
- 2017: 20,069 unique views
- 2016: 1,399 unique views
- 2015: 1,267 unique views
- 2014: 1,187 unique views
This means that the number of unique views for August 2019 is already more than four times the number of unique views from August 2018! Wow.
Below is an attempt at a visual analysis of trends on LeadSafeMama.com… it’s a bit all over the place (since I didn’t really start blogging here independently until December of 2016)… but summer months (May through August) are trending slower (more oranges and reds) and September through December tend to have the most traffic (more green and blue):
So – just to put it out there (because everything seems to start with letting the universe know what you want to do!) my goal for the rest of the year is that each of the final months of 2019 (September, October, November and December) bumps August out of 2nd place, so by the end of the year ALL of the top five months of all time will have happened this year 🙂
Why is any of this important?
In March of this year I got a real taste of what success could look like. If I could reach a consistent traffic of 1,000,000+ views each month this work would be 100% self-sustaining. If the work is self-sustaining I will no longer need to rely on donations to help cover the costs of the independent consumer goods test results that I share on the blog AND I will also be able to offer to help more families free of charge (like I used to – back in the day when I was affiliated with a nonprofit.)
My goal for 2020 is to consistently reach a minimum of 300,000 unique views each month (towards the longer term goal of reaching 1,000,000 views a month after my film and my book are completed.
As always – thank you for reading and for sharing my posts! You (you -all my readers) made this happen!
