When tested with an XRF instrument the tiles pictured here had the following readings:
Glazed surface of the tile:
- Barium (Ba): 548 +/- 105 ppm
- Zinc (Zn): 65,900 +/- 2,100 ppm
- Copper (Cu): 361 +/- 75 ppm
- Iron (Fe): 657 +/- 178 ppm
- Titanium (Ti): 214 +/- 68 ppm
- Zirconium (Zr): 22,100 +/- 900 ppm
Back (unglazed) side of the tile:
- Lead (Pb): 110 +/- 17 ppm
- Barium (Ba): 296 +/- 52 ppm
- Chromium (Cr): 155 +/- 67 ppm
- Zinc (Zn): 1,012 +/- 70 ppm
- Iron (Fe): 10,700 +/- 500
- Bismuth (Bi): 53 +/- 14 ppm
- Vanadium (V): 227 +/- 41 ppm
- Titanium (Ti): 2,409 +. 138 ppm
- Zirconium (Zr): 2,447 +/- 71 ppm
Metals not detected are not listed. Tests were done for a minimum of 60 seconds each to confirm the reading. Results are science-based and replicable and conducted with a Niton XL3T XRF in “Consumer Goods” mode.
