“Made In Italy” Blue Silicone NaturalFit Chicco Pacifier
Amazon affiliate link for this pacifier: https://amzn.to/2AHOJxu
When tested with an XRF instrument, this pacifier had the following readings. [Test was done for 180 seconds / 3-minutes.]
- Lead (Pb): Non-Detect
- Cadmium (Cd): Non-Detect
- Arsenic (As): Non-Detect
- Mercury (Hg): Non-Detect
- Barium (Ba): 815 +/- 117 ppm
- No other metals detected.
Note: Barium is often used as a component of colorants in plastics and silicones. It is my understanding that Barium is considered to be wholly safe in this application and at these levels, however I would prefer to see pacifiers be completely free of any metals. I chose to use clear silicone pacifiers with my children (the ones who would use pacifiers at least!)
If you have concerns about Barium, perhaps consider natural rubber options instead?
