2018 Ikea Reusable Silicone Muffin Cups: Cadmium FREE!!!
I bought these for my son, expecting them to be free of toxicants… and (as usual) Ikea delivered the goods!! Unlike many other silicone baking items that have trace levels of Cadmium, these Ikea baking cups are Cadmium free (and Lead free too of course!)
To see more examples of silicone items I have tested that were positive for trace levels of Cadmium, Click HERE.
Full XRF test results for these pink and green cups are listed below. Tests were done for at least 60 seconds and cups were folded up so many layers were tested together.

These are slightly different baking cups from IKEA. Would they be the same?
I can’t find the exact ones anywhere online unfortunately.
I’m also wondering if the hot pink colour makes a difference to the testing results.
Tamara tested my hot pink ones and they were also ND

I see your XRD detects metals, but what about organic compounds leached into food? Specifically, I know silicone hasn’t been studied much for baking… and I know it is SiO2 primarily, but there may be additives, especially in colored ones.
Does these silicone muffin cups have polyflouroalkyl substances (PFAS), known as “forever chemicals” in them? If so, the organic flourine levels should be at a 20 ppm level for safety.
What do the metals detected that are listed in blue print mean?
