My friend Carissa wrote a book!

| | | | |

Carissa is my amazing friend – who has (nearly single-handedly) pulled me out of the funk I have been in over the past year (in the chaos following the surprise attack, decimation and near extinguishment of a huge chunk of my life’s work – the nonprofit I founded.)

Carissa helped me set myself up as an Amazon Affiliate this past December and showed me how to integrate the links into my posts (so I would have a little income to help cover my costs during this transition.) She has been helping me make XRF testing videos and organize XRF testing events, she has also volunteered her time to help me moderate my online Facebook groups. I really wouldn’t have done much of my recent advocacy work without her ongoing support! She has given me my life back, which in turn has gone a long way in restoring my faith in humanity and my will to go on as an advocate for lead poisoning prevention and as an environmental activist!

While we both live in Oregon (and not too far from each other actually!) Carissa and I met (in person for the first time) in Los Angeles at the ShiftCon conference a couple of years ago. We met because we signed up to share a bed together! To save money at the conference (and to make things more fun!) we typically pile four adult women into a hotel room with two queen beds! (OMG the other ladies had to listen to my snoring!)

Anyway, I wanted to return a bit of the favor and blessing that Carissa has been in my life by sharing her new book with you! Please click on the image below (or this link) to see the book on Amazon – with Carissa’s blessing, this is also an Amazon affiliate link – so if you choose to purchase her book (or anything else after you click on the link or any of the ads on this page), I will earn a percentage (at no extra cost to you!) to help cover my costs so I can continue to do my work as an independent/ unaffiliated lead poisoning prevention advocate – helping families everywhere! Win/Win/Win!  Please at least check out the book by clicking on the link!

Thank you everyone for helping me through this incredibly difficult time (over the past year now, and especially since August) and a special thanks to Carissa for pulling me back up on my feet again starting in December (when our collaborative work was reinvigorated after we were both attacked by Snopes for our work sharing about the high levels of lead in vintage Pyrex!)

Sincerely,

Tamara Elise Rubin
