This is very exciting! Newly made Heath Potteries (Sausalito, CA): Lead Free! Older Heath Potteries pieces have tested high lead, and it is great to see a company that has met the market demand and truly progressed with the times! I have spoken to their CEO and I feel that Heath today is a terrific choice!
Here is my post I wrote about the dishes I use in my home and other #LeadFree & #LeadSafe choices!

So, I saw your post on your site that mentioned a Heath dish you tested from the ’90’s that tested positive for lead. I contacted them, per your suggestion, wondering if they would be willing to trade my ’90’s dishes for the newer, no-lead dishes. (I knew it was highly unlikely, but why not try). Thought you might be interested in their response.
Response:
“While we do not use lead as a glaze ingredient today, Vintage Heath dinnerware from the 70’s may have contained some lead, Edith was working within the established guidelines at the time and Heath has always met and exceeded California and US safety standards for food. Your dinnerware from the early 1990s would have also been reformulated to exceed any state or federal guidelines during that time frame.
