2026 Projections

Each year (at the beginning of the year and periodically throughout the year, typically quarterly), we review our readership history to date and project readership and engagement for the coming months (and / or coming / future calendar year or 12-month period). Our readership here on this website is very important to Lead Safe Mama, LLC as it is the primary metric we use to determine the success of our work (to answer the question “Are we making a difference with this work?”)

While there have periodically been extenuating circumstances beyond our control impacting our projected engagement (for example the impact of the pandemic on our readership in 2020 and 2021, see the second bar graph below) — our readership projections help us to set goals, to guide our activities, and let us know if we are on track towards reaching these goals over the course of the year

Readership projections are also helpful in serving as a basis for determining rates for our advertising sponsors (based on how many eyeballs they might be able to expect will see their sponsorship banners for the duration of their sponsorship).

As there are lots of different metrics that one can use to make projections for the coming year — we try to look at each of the possibilities and then come up with a projection that falls somewhere in the middle of the range (in an effort to come up with projections that we may actually meet, even if they represent stretching a bit to help our work reach more families around the world ). The bullet points below each discuss using a different basis for these projections.

Projection based on recent daily readership numbers
- We’re anticipating total readership today (January 1, 2026) of about 24,000 unique page views.
- If we extrapolate that out across 365 days of the coming year, we might expect 8,760,000 unique page views for the 2026 Calendar Year
Projection based on recent year-over-year annual increases
- 2025 readership saw an increase over 2024 of 5.04217322%
- If we see the same increase from 2025 to 2026, we could expect 7,795,321 unique page views for the 2026 Calendar Year
- This would work out to about 21,357 unique page views (average) per day over the course of the 2026 Calendar Year
Looking at historic readership evaluated by pairs of years – over the past decade (see the second bar-graph below)
- 2017 and 2018 had similar readership levels and the we saw a 355% spike in readership in 2019 [859,760 in 2018 jumped to 3,826,782 in 2019)
- 2020 and 2021 had similar readership levels and the we saw a 102% spike in readership in 2022 (2,628,602 in 2021 jumped to 5,320,969 in 2022)
- 2022 and 2023 had similar readership levels and the we saw a 23% spike in readership in 2024 (5,764,660 in 2023 jumped to 7,064,910 in 2024)
- 2042 and 2025 have had similar readership levels and so – by the logic of the above pattern, we might expect a spike in readership in 2024
  - If we go with the LOWEST of the above increases (to be most conservative), we could possibly see 7,421,135 (or eoy total for 2025) jump by 23% for 2026
  - This could (possibly) result in readership of about 9,127,996
Averages?
- If we take an average of the low of these projection (7,795,321) and the high of these projections (9,127,996) we come up with a (perhaps) conservative and reasonable projection of 8,461,658 unique page views for the year.
- As this number is relatively close to the first projection above based on recent daily page views (8,769,000), it seems completely reasonable to project 8,500,000 unique page views by the end of 2026 — so we’re hereby setting our goal for 2026 at 8,500,000 unique page views!
Possibilities
- We have quite a few exciting things in the hopper for 2026 (in terms of collaborations with news agencies and other possible press events).
- As a result of these possible high profile events, we’re going to set a stretch goal for 2026 of 9,500,000 unique page views, which would represent a 28% increase over 2025 readership.
