Lead Safe Mama, LLC’s March 2024 Affiliate Links for Lead-Free Choices Part 2 (Lead-Free Easter Basket Ideas!)
Published: March 10, 2024
Below are links to some Lead Safe Mama-confirmed Lead-free items available on Amazon this month — with an “Easter ” theme. (Note: I am Jewish, and do not celebrate Easter — but I have vague memories from childhood… my mother didn’t want us to “feel left out,” so she got us Easter baskets when we were little… baskets filled with toys and treats, like one might do for Christmas stockings… so the list below is inspired by those personal memories!)
My list includes small(ish) things one might put in an Easter Basket — with a “Lead-free” twist! Of course, since this is LeadSafeMama.com, everything on the list below is a known Lead-free choice. If you think I should add something else to this list, some category of a thing that I may have omitted, which “definitely belongs in an Easter basket,” please let me know and I will look for the Lead-free version of that product for this list.
As always: While we actually don’t love supporting Amazon (despite the fact that we benefit from the extra Amazon affiliate revenue that helps to support the work that we do), we do love giving you — our Lead Safe Mama community members — ideas for safer products that you can buy for your home when you need them. Please know that you may find many of these exact items for less at brick-and-mortar stores (Target, Walmart, your locally-owned-and-operated independent stores, etc.) — and we encourage you to shop local whenever possible (but use these ideas as a guide for making Lead-free choices)!
Our number one tip for a Lead-free Easter is avoid purchasing and using Easter-themed ceramics. Even new Easter-themed ceramics often test positive for high levels of toxicants — they are often sold as “decorative items,” which are exempt from regulatory oversight, including even the leach-testing requirement for “food-use” items such as mugs and plates (even though obviously, such items could reasonably be expected to possibly wind up seeing at least occasional “food-use!”).
My number two tip for Easter is: Celebrate this year by taking those vintage Bunnykins and vintage Beatrix Potter ceramic baby cups and plates and throw them in the trash (make sure they break, so they can never be used again!). I have worked with several families for whom these items were determined to be a likely source of poisoning for a child!
You can see examples of the Beatrix Potter pieces (with test results) at this link:

And without further delay, here are those affiliate links — from Amazon, or directly from some of Lead Safe Mama, LLC’s affiliate partners — for known/confirmed Lead-free items that might be good additions to your Easter baskets this year! (Please note the age ranges for the product on their listing once you click through, as all products listed might not be appropriate for all ages of children.) Amazon prices noted are as of March 10, 2024.

Thank you for including Kleynimals!!
I can’t thank you enough for the work you do!! You give this Mom and I know so many others comfort in the choices they can make going forward as lead and heavy metal free as possible. Living in the New England area we all live “lead safe” in our homes, so my husband and I are very cautious when our daughter plays in soil or even near our old home (we have had the inside professionally tested and luckily we are lead free indoors) last month we just got our daughters lead blood test back and she is <1.0, thank you for helping us minimize this on all the new things we bring into our home!! We just purchased a tea kettle and espresso cups for my little tea lover for Easter!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Oh excellent! Thank you for commenting.
