COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENT with FREE Consumer Goods Testing: Saturday – October 29, 2022!

Hello all! I will be traveling to Durham, North Carolina this week and will be testing consumer goods for free (using XRF technology) at the PEACH Durham Lead Poisoning Prevention Week outreach event on Saturday – October 29, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please come join us and if you are not in the area but have friends who live nearby, please invite your friends to stop by with a few items to have them tested for free by me personally (Tamara Rubin).

Some Details If You Are Planning Coming:

The event is RAIN OR SHINE, there is a rain address on the flyer (just in case)
- Things you might want to consider bringing to have tested:
- Your favorite coffee mug (Your partner’s favorite coffee mug?)
- Your ceramic or porcelain baby dishes (the ones you used as a baby and were considering letting your child use)
- Your grandmother’s mixing bowls
- A dish from your every-day dish set
- A dish from that fine china you got for your wedding (or inherited from your grandma)

- How the FREE raffle works:
- When you come to the Lead Safe Mama, LLC booth at the event and either ask a question or bring something for testing you will get a raffle ticket and be entered in the raffle. It is FREE to enter, all you have to do to enter is ask a question about Lead at our booth or get something tested!
- Throughout the 4-hour event (every 10 minutes or so!) we will be randomly selecting winners for one of the 24 prizes that have been donated (winners will be selected by a volunteer randomly picking one of the raffle tickets entered up to that point), so YOU could win an Organic Crib Mattress from Naturepedic OR a set of Organic Sheets from Naturepedic OR a set of stainless steel (Lead-free!) toy keys from Kleynimals.

- If you win a prize and happen to not be at the event anymore when we call your name, we will set the prize aside for you and will call you and let you know you have won so you will have the opportunity to come pick it up during the remainder of the event or at the PEACH Durham office in the coming week. [If your prize is not picked up / claimed by the end of business day on November 4th it will be donated (by PEACH) to a family with a Lead poisoned child in North Carolina.]
