Tamara’s Favorite Things: My FAVORITE SOAP!
February 10, 2022 – Thursday
Looking for an AMaZing Valentine’s gift?
Check out my friend’s beautiful offerings! Adriana’s a wonderful artist — whose chosen media for expression happens to be soap! She may not be able to get them to you in time for Valentine’s Day – since it is already February 10th! – but her soaps make amazing gifts any time of year!
When you buy her soaps you are supporting a single-mama-owned business, run by a mama who has two kiddos including a little girl with Down Syndrome — so your purchase directly benefits a family of a child with disabilities. PLUS, you get something truly beautiful in exchange for your support of her work.
What’s more — I personally love her soaps and use them every day [folks that know me, know that I have historically had a lot of difficulty finding personal care products that worked for me, as I have some pretty serious chemical sensitivities — and in particular, I’m extremely sensitive/averse to many ingredients that are commonly added to products for various scents or colors!]. Adriana (her business is called Stash Soapery – and is based in mid-coast Maine) has a huge variety of recipes for her soaps — each with different combinations of ingredients to meet the needs of folks with allergies, sensitive skin, and/or other sensitivities! Her soaps truly are AMAZING! If you cannot find exactly what you are looking for, PM her on Instagram or send her an e-mail with your soap needs and I am certain she will pick out just the right soap for you!
This is another item officially going on the “Tamara’s Favorites Things” list! Thank you for checking out her offerings (please also follow Stash Soapery on Instagram, her images and videos are always so beautiful and fascinating too – especially if you want to show your children how soap is made). Hello,
In efforts to find safe products and protect my infant I wondered if you have any reccomendations for dish soap? I am at a loss as I typically choose items based on ewg ratings and now after seeing that multiple ewg certified items are full of lead I don’t even know where to begin.I have spent days researching safer options for soaps, infant creams, food storage etc. I think it would be very helpful to test more ewg certified products. If they come back free of lead and heavy metals than consumers might feel they are making a safer choice. Personally, heavy metals are only one of the many areas of concern. But if an item that has unsafe ingredients in it comes back lead free that isn’t very helpful for me when it likely is full of other very harmful ingredients. Then, I’m left wondering what is safer, the chemical ingredients, or the heavy metals? Can we try to test items that we know are already free of the chemicals? Than, we might be closer to finding safe options for our families.
The dish soap that I am considering is certified on the ewg site it is called aspenclean, unscented. I would love for you to test it, but I do not have the funds to pay for testing.
Thank you for the work you do, I truly appreciate it!
