    1. Hi Susan!

I provide this information so that you can know what there is to know (information that is not normally available to the consumer.) 90 ppm Lead and up (in the paint, glaze or coating of an item) is considered unsafe for use by children in newly manufactured consumer goods. There is no regulatory limit for total XRF-detectable Lead content for dishware as regulatory agencies don’t categorize dishes as an item intended for use by children!!!!

It’s up to consumer to decide if this is something they are comfortable using for food. I would not personally eat off of china like this. Just because it is not well studied does not mean it is safe. Here’s my post with some additional background to the concern: https://tamararubin.com/topics/does-vintage-and-new-functional-pottery-and-dishware-have-unsafe-levels-of-lead/

      Thank you for commenting!

    2. The Imperial china by Dalton, is it safe to eat off or not? Only the silver has lead so if food doesn’t touch it are you good to use? Does the lead ever wear away? Yikes, I’ve had this for 55 years but have put in dishwasher.

Also Holiday holly is that safe to use? What about craze marks.

      Thanks,
      Vicky Bamberger

  1. Hello,
“Silver gray decorative edge of the of dish” Does this mean the metalic silver on the edge of the dish or the large gray design on the dish or both?

  2. Can it be used in the microwave? I’m a single man and have some of the same as the picture so I don’t know much about it.
