  1. Hi Tamara!
I’m in Europe and would like to buy via amazon.co.uk and give you the credit. Would you be able to set up your links to work for co.uk or even amazon.de (Germany site)?
Please let me know ASAP so I can order!
    Best wishes,
    Erica

    1. Oh Thank you Erica!

I haven’t figured out how to do that yet but will see if I can figure that out tonight.

      Tamara

      1. Hi Tamara,
Whenever you figure it out please let me know because I’ll await hearing back from you (even if it takes a little bit of time).
Since reading your reports and investigations, I have gotten rid of a lot of kitchen ‘gear’ so I’m going to need to purchase things and want to give you as much of the benefits as possible. 🙂
I’ve already bought a couple of your recommendations/ things via the amazon.com site for my mom but import fees are too dear to ship internationally.
Keep strong and please keep up your amazing work!
        All the best,
        Erica

  2. Tamara,
    1) I notice that one of the items is a set of Cusinart pans. While I can’t tell from the picture, normally the Cusinart pans have a clear lid with the brand “Cusinart” printed in white ink on the top of the lid. Have you tested the paint for Lead? I think you have mentioned that, unfortunately, often brand names are printed with lead paint.
    2) With stainless steel items, do we need to be concerned about potential solder in places that connect parts, like sometimes handles, etc.?

    1. Hi Julia!

      Thanks for commenting.

      1) Yes – from the pictures I assume these pans do not have writing on the lids. If they do have writing on the lids I would expect that to be Lead paint (but I look at each of the listing photos carefully before I add something to one of my lists.) That said, I have not noticed that Cuisinart pans specifically have writing on the glass lids.

      2) Normally stainless steel is not welded together but either press fit (with extreme pressure) or riveted – so it is not usual to find Lead in these items (& again I scrutinize each picture when I make a recommendation like this but every now and then the item sent is not an exact match to the pictures – so those are good details to look out for.)

  3. Hi Tamara,

I purchased the stainless steel colander that was listed under upcoming deals. It looks like a nice. heavy duty stainless steel, but I noticed that it has a leaf like design and the words “live fresh” written on the handle. It is either a silver or white paint. It is rather hard to see in the photo, but can be seen a little on the left side as you look at the photo. I can also probably send a photo if it would help. Do you think I should be concerned about lead paint in the logo? It’s so frustrating that manufacturers take a wonderful product and then (often) have lead paint in the logo… I would like to keep it, but haven’t used it yet in case I should return it….

    Thanks!

  4. Hi Tamara, is there another cuisinart stainless steel pots and pans set you recommend. The one listed is no longer available. I need to purchase one for my sister for Christmas and would lobe your recommendation since she trying get a way from the toxic ones. Thank you! You’re a life saver!

  5. Hello, I am wondering if each of these items have individually been tested by you? I often see companies list their items as ‘lead free’ but they still contain lead. Curious if you have tested the glass teapot and the calphalon stainless cookware, specifically!

    1. Most of these items have been tested by me – yes. In most cases you can find examples of these items on this website – with full test results.

Per the blurb at the top of the page: “While I may not have personally tested all of these exact items or items from these brands, based on the product descriptions and images (provided in their Amazon listings) the lists below include ALL of the products from the October 2020 Amazon Prime Day KITCHEN SECTION that I am comfortable recommending (out of 31 pages worth of products — which I reviewed one by one!) Note: some of these deals may have expired by the time you have a chance to look at them (sorry about that, if that is the case!)”

    2. Please also note – this is not a list of 100% Lead-free items. The instant pot has lead (full test results are on this website). Also this list is from 2020. If you want to shop only for Lead-free items, you should check out our Lead-free shopping only website – http://www.ShopLeadSafeMama.com – instant pot is not on that website because it is not Lead-free.

    3. Hi again Brennen. The glass teapot above is the Tea Bloom teapot. Years ago I learned that this brand had Lead. Even though they were advertised as Lead-free, they had a Lead-painted logo on the bottom. As a result of the advocacy work of the Lead Safe Mama community – they have since removed the Lead paint from the bottom and instead either have paint free products or (for the examples that have logos painted on them) are using a Lead-free alternative paint. https://amzn.to/45100Gd

The Calphalon stainless cookware should also be Lead-free (as long as there are no glass lids with white-painted markings).
