Yes your information has affected me because I collect vintage dish ware and use some of them to eat from daily. Now I’m very paranoid about them! Many are painted, glazed, or have decals. Luckily I found a set of four new with stickers PRINCESS HOUSE made in France coffee mugs that I’ve had for years on a shelf! Now I’m using them everyday because you said after testing many various dish brands that these were consistently lead-free! I also ordered a stainless muffin pan from Amazon you recommend. I’ll also look for and buy Corelle that you use and recommend. I’m so sad your children and were poisoned by lead but so happy that you saved a reader’s son from further poisoning from his lead crystal drinking glass and Mikasa dishes his mother gave him to use daily from age 2 to 13 which led to off-the-chart level of lead in his body. Thank God! You have become an angel in disguise through your effort and zeal to prevent and protect other people and children from lead poisoning. Thank you for testing, writing and caring!
I want to reply to you. I went to eBay and saw many Princess House items that say 24% lead in the title! I found an ad on a local used/2nd hand website for Princess House mugs. There was no photo, so I automatically assumed they would be the same as the ones Tamara tested. Well, when I met the guy in person, I handed him my cash and he handed me the box. I opened it after he left, and noticed that they WERE NOT the style of mugs Tamara took a photo of! These ones in my hands looked like blown crystal Irish coffee mugs! ARghhhH! So, I won’t be using them! I don’t know if they have lead. The moral of the story: Always get the seller to open up the box and show you before you hand over your cash!
Oh that’s terrible news. I tested my first Princess House piece a few years ago and still have not tested one with Lead, but if they are marked Leaded Crystal then I expect that is the case for some of their pieces. I will keep an eye out for them and will update my post. Thank you for mentioning this Meg!
My set of 4 new coffee mugs have the PRINCESS HOUSE signature logo engraving of flowers & leaves with stickers attached saying PRINCESS HOUSE MADE IN FRANCE. I’m pretty sure these are the same kind Tamara has tested. I’m assuming they are.
