The e-mail I received tonight from the VP at my son’s school, dismissing my concerns for lead in the water fountains.

The vice principal at my son’s school sent me the e-mail below in response to THIS LETTER (that I sent this morning.) You can see my response to this e-mail HERE.

AAP Report from August 2017

Time: 4:54 p.m.

Date: Friday, November 9, 2018

Good afternoon Tamara,

Please read the report below. Hope this helps address and answer your concerns.

Thanks

Water results for each school have posted online at the Risk Management Healthy & Safe Schools website since the start of school in late August 2018.

The Sellwood drinking fixture testing data link is below:

The PPS action level for lead is 15ppb.  That is 5ppb less than EPA recommendation.

Only Drinking fixtures that test below the PPS action level are turned on. These are all posted with a green; This drinking fixture is ready to use sign.

Of course, no water system is lead free.  We set our action level at 15ppb. School districts are not required to achieve 1 ppb and there are no plans from either the state or federal government to require or request that districts do so.

To see the status of drinking fixtures at your school, click on this chart and this schedule for when future work will be accomplished. These will be updated on a regular basis.
